    New Cooper Discoverer HT

After driving my new Continental CrossContact LX20s for 3-4 days, I can say that the Coopers are a MUCH harder riding tire- new or old, they picked up every little bump in a way that the Continentals don't.

    New Cooper Discoverer HT

What I read is that the top of Abe's head is about 2/32 or 1/16", which is the legal limit for treadwear. However, they recommend 1/8" of tread (4/32" or 2/16") for safe stopping ability, and 6/32" for snow traction. 4/32" is to the top of George's head on a quarter, conveniently enough.

    New Cooper Discoverer HT

I've had a set of those on my Dakota for 5 years now. They're quiet and grip well. About the only complaint I've had is that they wore faster than I expected- at 32000 miles, I'm to the point where I can see the top of George's head on all 4 tires, which seems a lot faster than I'd have expected...

    10,000 mile oil change interval??

I'm guessing that Audi calls for VW 502.01, which is specifically a long-life standard that generally calls for synthetic 5w-40 oils, the 10,000 mile OCI should be fine. Also, I wouldn't worry too hard about the time to get to 10,000 either. There are quite a few long-time high mileage UOAs...

    2006 Jeep Liberty 3.7 65,000mi

I just got done with a 2.5 year / 10540 mile OCI using 5w-30 Mobil 1 EP and a Motorcraft FL-400S in a 3.7L Dodge Dakota (2005) with the same 42RLE automatic transmission as your Liberty. Fine UOA- no issues over the course of the OCI either. UOA LINK I've generally run 6k intervals over the...

QSUD is dexos 1..Ultra is not..implications?

Chrysler says: (according to my 2005 Dakota manual) "Engine Oil: Use SAE 5w-30 API Certified meeting material standard MS-6395" The catch comes in when the certifying body is also the manufacturer- that's what's tripping people up in this thread re: Dexos required or not. Things get a little...

    Honest Mistake

I did- I recently ran some Mobil 1 5w-30 Extended Performance for 10,540 miles and 2.5 years. My UOA came back fine, so you're probably just fine, I'd think. Link to 2.5 year/10540 mile UOA

    Mobil 1 5w-30 EP, 10540 miles, 05 Dakota 3.7L V6

For the first 7000 miles or so, it was just the Mobil 1, then the Supertech got added to top it off, and then at about 8500, I added another half-quart of the 30HD to top it off.

    M1 EP - 15k / 2.5 years - any issues?

Apparently 2.5 years and a Motorcraft FL-400S don't make any significant difference. My UOA came back fine. Link to UOA post

    Mobil 1 5w-30 EP, 10540 miles, 05 Dakota 3.7L V6

Thought I'd post my latest UOA. FTR, this is over a 2.5 year period- the initial fill was over Thanksgiving Weekend of 2011, and didn't get changed until about 2 weeks ago. I used a Motorcraft FL-400S filter, and added a half-quart of Supertech 10w-30 SM rated synthetic at one point, and...
