    2021 Chrysler 300s

There should be an exposed area on the front subframe with a small embossed triangle facing outward; this is the lifting/jackstand area. See #3 in the illustration: A popular upgrade is to bolt jacking pads into these areas. See these links...

    Fill with grout...or something else?

Trying to get away from grooved/ornate baseboards. Really want something thinner and smooth that's much easier to keep clean. I like Cujet's setup. I'll probably just install taller baseboard and grout it in at the bottom for a clean look.

    Fill with grout...or something else?

    Nope...just replacing baseboards

    Fill with grout...or something else?

Should have mentioned that...the last homeowner did the quarter-round addition in all four bedrooms and we think it looks terrible (and collects more gunk at the seam). I refinished one of these setups in a spare bedroom because the previous owner installed LVP but didn't pull the existing...

    Fill with grout...or something else?

I'm doing a lot of house remodeling and just came across what I think is an unusual shortcut taken by the home builder 20+ years ago. In pulling some hallway baseboards in order to replace them, I noticed they must have been installed before the tile floor was installed. In other words, the...

    Auto insurance

To answer your original question, yes, adding a new teenage driver will considerably raise your overall premium. When our oldest was 17 and got his license, adding him (with a well-used 1989 Plymouth Sundance) resulted in about a 40% premium bump. After one six-month policy term, he went solo...

    AC issue in 2017 Pacifica

There's no vacuum actuation in these. The hiss you hear (probably behind the glove box area) is most likely the expansion valve. If the hiss is brief it's quite normal. My 2005 and 2014 have done this periodically since new.

And the only real requirement we have is this: If you're a lefty, please confine yourself to Austin or Dallas. Thank you. Signed, The rest of Texas

Can a civilian aircraft in distress land at a military airport?

Ah...I misunderstood your specific question a bit. You're overall correct with regard to prosecution. We as military police could detain and even cite (US Magistrate Citation/DD Form 1805); JAG personnel can prosecute offenses under US Code in Mag Court as reps of "the government" if the...

Can a civilian aircraft in distress land at a military airport?

Your first part is not true as it's wholly contingent upon jurisdiction. Flightline areas on CONUS AF bases are under exclusive jurisdiction, meaning the USG owns and controls these areas - there's zero local or municipal oversight. Violators could be charged (but rarely are) under US Code, be...

Can a civilian aircraft in distress land at a military airport?

Abject nonsense! The use of force - to include deadly force - is strictly outlined in Air Force Instructions (AFI). Even special security areas are governed by the same AFI and a use-of-force continuum. Nobody's getting shot unless the preconditions for the use of deadly force are met. Would...

Do parts stores accept rebuildable cores anymore?

Took them both to the scrap metal section at our local dump. Problem solved.

Do parts stores accept rebuildable cores anymore?

In the course of maintaining my vehicles I've accumulated some rebuildable cores. Since I get most of my parts from Rock Auto, eBay, etc., I seldom deal with core charges. I'm trying to get rid of my old steering rack and an old alternator (both from a 2005 Caravan), but am wondering if parts...

    Spark Plugs And Vehicle Warranties

Five pages of maintenance records on MS Word and two folders full of receipts. Lots of entries for a vehicle I've had for 20 years and 260K miles!

Binding noise from struts when turning wheel

The OE bearings (and most replacements) are inside a plastic cage. This isn't a problem when properly assembled, as the bearings are sandwiched neatly between the upper spring seat and the strut mount. I've been rebuilding struts for the past 15 years and have never had a problem with quality...

Binding noise from struts when turning wheel

Understand. This coming from a guy who just finished over eight knuckle-busting hours replacing the rack on my 2005.

    Spark Plugs And Vehicle Warranties

I'm curious how this would be treated today. In June of 2006, my 2005 Caravan had 25,589 miles and began to stumble a bit when cold. The dealer replaced the plugs and wires under the 3/36 warranty.

Mopar or Amsoil or OEM coolant - Jeep JK 2014

If it meets Chrysler's material standard (MS-12106 or later), it's fine. Are you topping off or replacing all the coolant?

Binding noise from struts when turning wheel

Despite some folks being OK with quick struts, the fact is most of them are built with inferior quality offshore components. Further, the 2005 Chrysler minivan lineup came with 11 different spring combinations, depending upon engine, suspension type, and other options. And most quick strut...

Binding noise from struts when turning wheel

Not strut-related, but why engine oil in a system that requires ATF+4?
