Costco bringing back Coke products to food court

Because it basically came down to the low bid. Especially important when it comes down to maintaining the loss leader, such as the dog and soda deal.

    FRAM Grease?

I thought the "Fram" name on oil and chemicals was AAP's house brand, at least for all intents and purposes. The specs that it satisfies will tell the story. I'm sure that it would be serviceable, at worst.

Deceptive car salesman loses a sale

I'm 6'4' and heavier than that. It was just remarkable funny when they saw that I was serious and ready to hit the button. I figured, I had the tech, why not use it? I just didn't think that woman sales manager that tried getting all hard with me, could move that fast.

Deceptive car salesman loses a sale

Find out when closing is for the dealership, and set your appointment to pick up the vehicle 15 minutes before closing. That really minimizes the "PooPoo Platter." When it is on their own time, they want to go home.

Deceptive car salesman loses a sale

That's a simple fix. That is when you pull out your cellphone, punch in 911, and present yourself as ready to hit the send button, and inform the operator that you are being held against your will. You get your keys back real quick.

    Home Depot forcing delivery

+1. Bought a Bosch dishwasher years ago because Lowes made me an offer I couldn't refuse (too bad they lied about 90% of it.) However, back to the story. After about 14 days of use, the whole control panel started flaking and the LED went out. Bosch said "Too bad" because it had a 30 day...

    Home Depot forcing delivery

My guess is that they are pulling them out of warehouses, and not carrying them in store. Recently, had to go out and buy my elderly in-laws a washer, and had a heck of a time finding anything in stock. Finally, after my seventh stop at a Lowes, I found a great deal on a floor model that someone...

Deceptive car salesman loses a sale

I've done it on both. The last used vehicle that I utilized this strategy on (also the last used vehicle that I have purchased) was the Ranger in my signature, when it was 5 model years old. I did the deal entirely via e-mail, but did finish up via phone to arrange delivery. I had inspected the...

Deceptive car salesman loses a sale

That's generally the way it works, because most people require instant gratification and allow themselves to be bullied. That's why I do everything e-mail. It clears out the rump caps. When (and if) I walk in the door of a dealership, I have a hard copy price from a dealership principal, in...

Snowblowers - any differences between brands?

There isn't really any great difference in any that you have mentioned. I'd tend to focus on makes where there are dealers/service/parts networks available. You are more apt to find that with Toro/Cub Cadet/ Ariens. Not so much with "Big Box" units like Craftsman or Troy Bilt.

    Dry gas?

If you want to do something, fill up the tank to eliminate any chance that there may be moisture in the tank. Other than that, leave it alone.

What is your go to shave soap/cream?

This, or whatever else is low bid, or on sale, with or without coupons.

    Thinking about switching Insurance companies

I was with SF for years, then I bought a house and a new car, and took a new job (all in the same month.) The agent told me that the premium on the new car would go up $60. year. She quoted me a price. Wasn't happy but had a lot going on at the time (obviously) and thought that I could get it...

    40 gallon gas water heater

I had a Ruud for 19 years, and it was fantastic. I let a plumber talk me into a Bradford White. Hate it. Virtually impossible to regulate the temperature. Seems like there are two choices: scalding hot or cold as cubes. Never again. Should have gone with a Rheem and saved over $500. in the process.

I committed three BiTOG automotive no-no's

Sometimes, you gotta do what you gotta do. In my case, I go to an independent Honda specialist who will do 2 OC's for less than you paid for one. Plus, I do my own CAF's, with some coaching from You Tube, after I stop at the World of Wally for a CAF. Auto car washes are a way of life for me...

    Buick vs Oldsmobile

Saturn was kind of the "Experimental" division of GM. It was to be the "Petri dish" to develop best practices to beat the import scourge. The cars were supposed to be unique and were supposed to provide GM product to compete Honda, Toyota, etc. offerings. I always thought the one price strategy...

Kiddo passed the driver's test today

This. I own four vehicles and only one has a backup camera, and I look back on that on that one like I do the other three. Checks/balances/force of habit, and all that stuff.
