My neighbor who is a chemist maintains that if it says 5 quarts, you can go 1 either way and be fine. If it says 5.0 quarts, then you can go 1/2 either way, and so on The greater detail they specify, the less wiggle room there is Sounds logical I guess, never really figured if it applies to cars

Does the T430 have an SSD? Honestly, I might consider fixing the T430 and then saving up more than $500 to get something that is really a massive upgrade I honestly believe a $500 laptop might end up being not really THAT much better than your T430

I think you're completely right, a cheap 999c 2 cylinder, air cooled engine holding just 1.9qt of oil in a Generac can run at 3600RPM under load for a solid week with no issue, I sure as heck hope a car can!
