Higher end watches, something I am unable to connect the dots on

I think they're expensive, partly because I have the Ultra 2. I like big watches and my moderate cataract vision made it easier to read also. I had a Series 6 initially. Cataract surgery this week and 2 weeks later so it may really pop after that. I'll upgrade it if/when they ever add reliable...

What are you doing right now?

(I think) I know ASE certified is a major thing. Is that so? If it is true, how do you get them and do you have all there are? Shouldn't that pay more and be useful if/when changing jobs?

Follow recipes like you would follow a mechanic manual, step by step exactly, and provided they are good recipes you'll serve some winners.

I don't know. You brought up about the car after a trash shift. Don't know which function though. :)

There's nothing wrong with sanitation engineering. It is an honorable and necessary profession.

Higher end watches, something I am unable to connect the dots on

I wear the Apple watch for the many health functions. I'd wear a Rolex if I could get one for 1960's PX price. I don't really see not wearing the Apple watch though, or another even better health monitoring if/when available. And probably Luminox would be my spendy alternative choice. Or Citizen...

Higher end watches, something I am unable to connect the dots on

I have a few dozen, a few pretty special. I expect the doctor's knife with spatula in today's mail. I don't really collect them any more but enjoyed it back in the day. I got to go to Bradford and tour the factory in 2011 with my dad. One of our last trips together.

    Almost forgotten auto parts stores.

We had a local store on Washington Ave. fifty years ago, can't remember the name now, maybe Malone's or similar. I liked going there even though I wasn't mechanical and rarely had reason to go. Too bad all the independent shops are pretty much swallowed up.

Higher end watches, something I am unable to connect the dots on

My favorite uncle was a jeweler and a watchmaker. Bring him a teacup with every piece of a watch in it when he opened and at closing he'd hand you the watch keeping time better than it ever had. He'd work on Rolex but his main watch sales were Seiko. Better and more accurate timekeeping. It was...

    Battery Testers

I recently got this one as it combines battery testing with OBDII reporting. I haven't played with it yet but I'm sure it's smarter and more mechanical than I am. https://www.topdon.us/collections/diagnostic-tools/products/artilink500b

Well, let's say the matched fund has an insane 5% fee. Option A, no match, 0.01% fee, we'll call it zero for convenience. Contribute $100 and have $100. Option B, 50% matched contribute $100, have $150, pay 5% fee $7.50 net $142.50. I don't see how it could possibly come close to killing the...

Free money is free money, even if it is 50% match not 100% match. Option A, put money anywhere you choose and for every dollar you put in get a dollar credit. Option B, put money in company plan and for every dollar you put in get $1.50 credit. Yeah, even I know take maximum advantage of that...

I'm thankful for apparently going to "non-typical" schools. I had mostly excellent professors and interesting other students. I had a few classes I especially liked and looked forward to. I still remember them fondly now, half a century later. I have no experience with or knowledge of anything...

It doesn't other than satisfying interest in autos, driving, ti[y]res, weather, road conditions and a few others and providing opportunity to share and discuss opinions and experiences on same. Michigan in January at 7 degrees gives an interesting alternative to mid/south Texas.

Or live in a south suburb of Houston and run one set year round FTW. Guess I could win the lotto and have matching trucks but one with dry and one with wet tires for raining or not.

I agree many people prioritize poorly, if at all. I just wanted to acknowledge there are some people who would want a second set but due to circumstances can't obtain it. And others who should have it rather than having 7 streaming services and the latest phone.

No, it doesn't. Some people aren't skiing. Or vacationing. Or anything elsing. They are living paycheck to paycheck and don't have an extra $200 for a set of wheels even if they want them. If you don't know about that you are blessed. But they are out there. So for some it was a fair and...

I read a few books in the 80's but can't remember the author now. At the time a fairly well thought of financial advice writer and I guess ok since I'm not broke now. I wouldn't mind to read them again, if I could remember them, or read some new ones, not that I'll be doing or changing anything...

That's all true for those already owning the two sets. The original statement is definitely true also, it isn't in the budget for some (many?) to have two sets as a paycheck to paycheck system doesn't allow buying 4 wheels and 4 tires and mounting/balancing/etc. whether wanted or not.
