Amsoil SS 5w-20, 62,000 miles, '11 Ford Expedition

StevieC That's great to hear. When I 1st installed my BMK 23-EA I ran the EAO-15 and the BP-90. I did my research and switch to the EAO-26, and BP-100 for a little more capacity. My only advice to you is that if you want to run the BP-110 be aware that it is a pretty long filter, and you want...

Big065f150 Thanks for the kind words and interest in my posts. I list Rancher as my occupation because it's easier to spell than entrepreneur. I live on the S side of Chicago, but have a large cattle operation in S Ga, Oil and Gas interest in the Permian Basin, not to mention kids in College on...

Thanks Pablo, Going with Amsoil Bypass

That sounds like my setup. I run the Eao-26 spin on filter, and the EaBP-90 for the Bypass filter. I highly recommend adding a petcock to your bypass setup , it makes sampling a breeze.

    2007 f150 5.4 3v 5w30 amsoil signature series UOA

Big065f150 Welcome to BITOG and thanks for the post. I also run the 5w-20 Amsoil Signature Series, and I have a 2011 version of your 5.4L 3v, so I probably know what I'm talking about. Since you asked for input here goes. Your uoa looks pretty good to me. Your oil and your filter are both rated...

    Michelin Defender or Premier?

Buck91 Get the Defender LTX/MS I got 83k out of my last set and sold them on Craigslist for $ 280 in April with 5/32's of tread left. My current defenders have about 15k miles and work great!

    2014 Lincoln Navigator oil recommendations

cadfaeltex This is a pretty easy 1. I run this same 5.4L engine in my 2011 Expedition. You can't go wrong with Mobil 1 and a Motorcraft Fl-820s filter. I ran it for yrs before I switched to Amsoil and a Bypass Filter @ 100k miles(after extended warranty expired) I also ran Mobil 1 in my 1999...

    Good one-piece lug nuts?

Klutch9 I think I've got a good answer for you. I currently drive a 2011 Ford Expedition EL King Ranch 4x4 which I ordered new. I've had my tires rotated every 5000-7500 miles. I was having my tires rotated @ a Ford Dealership when it had 100k miles and was informed I had swollen lug nuts. I...

6 month oil changes. Mobil1 AFE or Amsoil Sig 0W20

KevinStu Welcome to the forum! I too live in Chicagoland. Since neither of your vehicles are Turbo, I would use the Amsoil Oil and Filter, and change the oil every yr or so. The Signature Series Oil is good up to 25k miles, and the Amsoil Filter is good for 1 yr. Then get a UOA done to see how...

Looking Good A310 Keep doing what your doing. I agree with Ihatetochangeoil, your system appears sustainable. I'm currently 67,000 miles into my own bypass experiment. I'll post results in a few months at 75,000 miles.

BrocLuno Thanks for the kind words. I tried to take a pragmatic approach to Bypass Filtration, and by doing some experimentation with UOA's I think I've got my Oil Change program "Dialed In"

Linctex, I believe my Amsoil Bypass head unit have proprietary filters. Plus the full flow filter last 25k miles, and the Bypass Filter is last for 70k miles. And my wear numbers are Excellent.

    Best String Trimmer for $200-250?

92satirnI2 I agree with surguywutt, the Echo pas225sb is your best option. I've been running this unit for 17+ yrs. My 1st power head lasted for 12 yrs. I use the string trimmer, stick edger, and hedge trimmer attachments. Good luck!

    Schaeffer 9000 5w30, 9100 miles, 2013 F150 5.0

Kuato, The wear numbers look good with the Schaeffer's. I for one would like to see the SS Amsoil 5w-30 vs Schaeffer's. I use Oil Analyzers, and they condemn Oil with a TBN of 2.0. So your Oil is basically spent. Thanks for the Post!

    Need 275/55R20 recommendations

04SE I've been running the Michelin LTX/MS, LTX/MS2, and now the Defender for 20 yrs. They grip very well, have a quiet ride and last 80-100k+ miles. Take advantage of the Discount Tire sales, use their Credit Card, sell the take offs on Craigslist and you'll be close to $150 per tire. Good luck!

4WD After 8 UOA's I've got a pretty good baseline to work from. The reason I got the uoa done @ 56k miles is because I was taking a 5600 mike trip to Vancouver and I wanted to make sure I had enough TBN to get me to the next Filter Change @ 62k miles. I'll get my next uoa done when I change my...

4WD I hope this answers your question. I started running this Amsoil dual bypass setup approx 18 mo and 62k miles ago. I started doing my research about 1 yr earlier and made the switch when my vehicle was out of warranty @ 100k miles. Before this I would take my own Mobil 1 5w-20 to my local...
