NEW Vehicle Advice / Recommendations: Anyone? Subaru or Toyota? What says the gang?

I always take my time and drive just about every vehicle in the segment that I’m looking at. Even the same vehicles from different dealerships this way I can judge consistency in the quality and trim levels. Often, vehicles surprise me. For example, the vehicle that ranks lower on my list is way...

Over 70 and still wrenching your own vehicles

As much as I once loved doing work on our vehicles, I’ve slowed way down not only due to age but physical ability(hand, back, knees hurt) and I just don’t want to do the work that I used to do. It's not that I am ill, just sore after I've been on the ground for too long. I love to save the money...

Can I use Idemitsu PSF in my 97 Buick Park Ave?

I have used HONDA P/S Fluid in many a GM P/S units with wonderful success. So if Idemitsu makes Honda P/S fluid then, I’d say yes indeed.

sauna or hot-tub; for aches and pains

In addition to the above, I’m always working around the house or helping others. So my days are busy without feeling overburdened. I do just what I want to do but I have a time of day that I want to stop. Keep busy!

    Bad smell from vents

I’ve had good success spraying disinfectant sanitizer(Lysol or others) in through the outside vent with the fan on drawing the air to the inside. Works quite well!

This is a rental car rant

95 hp? More like 78 hp. Yes, they're pathetic!

sauna or hot-tub; for aches and pains

Weather permitting, I ride my bike 15-20/day. 25-30 pushups(when my shoulders don’t click/snap). 200 crunches/side crunches most days when my back allows for it. Walk a couple of miles when possible after our early evening meal. Squats on the off days(weights dependent) nothing too heavy. I...

Nissan Recall for Potential VC-Turbo Engine Failure

^^^Ohh, right (i), thanks for catching that. It took my a minute to realize what you meant. (y) I once spelled Alfa incorrectly by spelling it Alpha without even realizing it and I got busted. 😅 :):D:p:rolleyes::unsure:o_O:ROFLMAO:😁🤓🥳

Nissan Recall for Potential VC-Turbo Engine Failure

I think that the VC engines came along, “too little/too late. Supposedly the engines were in R&D for ~20 years before coming to market. When most companies are hitting the market with more & more hybrid & full electric vehicles, maybe new ICE designs is not what the market needs. However...

    Car only starts in neutral?

I agree! I’ve Adjusted them on Mazdas. They have oblong holes that you can undo the hold down bolts and possibly turn it clockwise to see if that works if not try the other way. It’s most likely just out of adjustment. The rangefinder is only going to move about an eighth of an inch in either...

Your Sienna wouldn't still happen to be under the 3/36 Basic Warranty would it?

Pennzoil refused my rebate for purchase of 2 jugs!

In this instance, I've called oil companies Customer Service Line(if there is one) and talked to a rep. They've helped me in the past and I then received my rebate money.

    PT Cruiser lighting

Yes, first start by replacing both bulbs and then test to see if they work. If so, replace any other bulbs in those lenses as long as everything is all apart for easy access. Quick story... A driver on the road tells my buddy that his rear brake lights don't work. So my buddy asks me for help...

sauna or hot-tub; for aches and pains

I don’t want this to sound disrespectful and trust me, I don’t mean it that way. Things don’t get any easier as we age. Unless you have some physical disability(s), join a health club. Workout those aches & pains and use their facilities.

2019 Hyundai Santa Fe - Rear shocks - OEM or KYB

For $14 more per shock, I'd stay with OE. Do you know why your shock is leaking? Did you overload the back end or hit too many potholes/sewer drains/manhole covers?... too often? You don't have to tell ! Maybe it was just bad luck !

    Quaker State Defy 5W-30

I used it years ago and thought it was quite good. It is a high mileage type of oil that does slow down some leaks and I thought it also made my engine very quiet.

Is Hybrid Oil Worth it For Super Low Mileage Cars?

I think that SuperTech filters are quite good and there are several threads(I’m not searching for them) that have been cut open, brand new & used. There is also WhipCityWrenchers on YouTube that have cut open ST filters and they show to be just fine. Are they Top of the Line? No, but good just...
