Inherited 99 Mercury Grand Marquis with poor maintenance record. Where to start?

How does it start and drive? Check fluid levels, top diff, off change oil and filter. Smell ATF ,if it isnt black/ or burnt smelling and trans shifts okay. How are the tires? Do brakes grind? How many miles do you want to get out of it? Being 25 yrs old, I'd be checking the brake lines. The...

Anyone top-off charging a lead-acid battery as part of regular maintenance?

I bought a 70$ 24F at Wal-Mart to keep my son's 533-i alive , but then the 7yr old battery in the Rat died. I don't think it liked being swapped back into an E-28. I used a HF 1/2 amp maintainer at whim to make it last that long. 24F is Camry sized with a 1 yr warranty. The new battery is loose...

I did it! Changed to winter air.

I used my card in an air machine at my local Speedway back in Oct. I think the original ? Firestone Affinitys are aging out on the 64Kmile 16 Camry. I know they hydroplane and are hard as rocks. It hasn't rained much so..

    Bar oil for PTO lubrication?

Check oil level before every use. Top off as necessary. Bar oil is/ was 30w with a 'tackifier' Whatever that is. I had a serious leak, blow by, etc that was caused by a plugged pcv going into the carb vent. It is a favorite old mower and I like to fix stuff. It is a 40 yr old Suzuki OHV Parts...

    Replace fuel filter,lines?pics

If you look at those lines too hard, you will create leaks. Underneath clips holding the lines in place is a bad area because they collect dirt. All this goes double for the brake lines, BTW

    Brake bleeders

I use clear tubing from the bleeder to a jar of brake fluid. I kneel outside the car and pump the pedal with my right hand. Faster than a gravity bleed.

21 Toyota - caliper pins already stuck

I had the LR caliper slide stick on my '16 Camry. I gooped them with Syl-Glyde . I used too much on one wheel and it would release with an audible clunk that disappeared after a week.

What tool to get the stuck arm off the shaft

A 2pound hammer and a sharp cold chisel. Use eye protection. Is the metal smoothing out the wheel on the grinder? I'd use the grinder and then the hammer and chisel. Please post results. TIA
