    Most cars with an oil life monitor will have you go way past a year. For my Chevy, driving 5k miles per year, the OLM says to change the oil around two years.

    We know enough about the reliability of different EV's to be confident about this, in some cases. Bolt EV: very long lasting, problems unlikely Nissan Leaf: you're going to have problems Early Tesla (2012 or so): likely problems at higher mileage Anything with an LFP battery pack: no issues

    So many questions. Is this really rust? We don't know for sure. Is it rusting on the inner surface too? Is it the type of rust that keeps growing and oxidizing of its own accord? Or does it stop at the surface? If this is happening on the inner surface, too, and it penetrates deeply...

    We have a Chevy Bolt and your numbers for 4.5mi/kWh are right on. It's very cheap to drive and pretty fun, too.
