Rotella T5 in 15W-40 would be my choice year round.
If I were going to be parked in extremely cold weather than I would run Rotella T6 in 5W-40 flavor. If you think this is to light, than the goldylocks oil would be Rotella T5 in 10W-30 flavor. Not to thick, not to thin. Just right!
I'm sure...
my brother-in-law had bad luck with his theta powered hyundai. turned his vehicle in after many issues. only 38,000 miles. not saying it's a bad engine. i've read that many ppl have had great experiences with these ice. ymmv.
he's running a rav4 now and has had good luck
1/10 odds that the engine will blow to crap before 50k miles... even if unicorn tears are used to lubricate. any takers?
can't fix, ford qUaLiTy ...‚👌

10W-30 oil in my toyota for 5k miles and the report came back excellent. who knows, maybe a 0w could fetch similar results? 🤷â€â™‚ï¸
1ppm/1k miles, on iron. not bad? https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/attachments/usergals/2017/12/full-74995-16904-img_3826.jpg

I have the same engine. It's going strong still at over 170k
Here's my UOA
I've switched from HM to Regular Dino and now using Castrol 5W-30 A3/B4 LL-01 oil.
Plan on using Delo 15W-40 dino next CK/SN
Use whatever viscosity lets you sleep well at night.
I run M1HM 10W-30 A3/B3 rated oil and its worked fine in my Toyota 3.5 2GR-FE. You can check my UOA and see results in my posts.
I run 5W-20 in my Corolla. Have run 5w-30 in it before as well. Engine is just fine. I would feel fine running...
Easy answer... pick your favorite color bottle and sleep well at night. As long as it meets the spec you're fine. I run a 10W-30 in my 18 Tacoma, with same engine. How bout' that? Has she blown up? No. Can I run 0W-20? Sure. Do I Want to? No. Am I worried about Warranty? Nah, it's a Toyota. Now...
