    2009 6.7 Cummins turbo failure

The turbo charger's bung up in the vein area, on Cummins engines there is a cone with flutes, these flutes run through a disc. they do not bung up per say, the internal actuator arm binds, the disc comes loose and binds the flutes or the actuator itself fails. Cummins engines all have an open...

    Turbo Cooldown

Bearings are not water cooled the housings are (or at least in every application that I know of). If you are hauling heavy or really have your foot into it for a long time a few minutes to let the turbine cool down is recommended. The mistake most people make is they fly in the drive way and...

just how bulletproof a 7.3 powerstroke is

I miss those engines! Only thing that ever really went bad was cam sensors and the odd injector. Well... besides the rotten oil pans glued on with RTV. I have to admit they were a corner stone for International and Ford right from the beginning. Not a lot of jam but very reliable.

How many of us oil nerds still "warm up" your car?

What I am saying is that everyone is right. Look at your stand point a little closer will ya? Cold air doesn't do much, you are right. But with air movement, the humid air will not collect as frost/fog on the inside of the windshield. If the window is already frosty, Yes air that is warmer is...

At idle, does ATF warm faster in D or N?

Performing stall tests on the big Allisons created some pretty insane tranny temps. I didn't realize they got that hot that quickly.
