2014 odyssey I did a drain and fill with HPL green ATF. It’s been about 10500 miles since the last drain and fill. Approximately 3.4 qts total volume exchanged.

Negative. I still don’t believe in Honda’s OLM in having the end user’s best interest at heart (vs accounting/cafe/etc). Also - it was a matter of convenience and timeliness as I was changing another vehicle’s oil at the same time.

I am now hoping it’s loose glue.

2023 odyssey 34619 miles 6144 on oil Out: HPL premium plus pax 0w20; amsoil ea15k13 In: the same Grooming day at the zoo. I didn’t want to wait for when it’s even hotter out.

2014 odyssey 177724 miles Out: HPL premium plus pax 0w20, Napa gold 7356 In: same oil, amsoil ea15k13 filter 5066 on the oil. I was worried about the filter frankly.

Samarium cobalt? If not, what kind of magnets?

Would a disc shaped samarium (sp?) cobalt magnet placed on the base of a filter cause bypass spring issues? I’m guessing no, but hope someone smarter than me can chime in. TIA

I’ve heard you can fill that engine’s crankcase with sand and it’d be fine.

Totally plausible luck of the draw. I do hope seven months is enough time for a smaller operation to jerk a knot into someone’s backside should it be needed though. But to your point, yes - that remains to be seen.

I took a leap and ordered another filter. It arrived and I inspected. Results below @Pablo I think someone at amsoil made some good moves in sourcing or conversations with suppliers saying they need to improve. I didn’t see any glue on the inside. At all. Zero reservations in using this one.
