For model year 2025... With the A25A-FKS engine, Toyota specs 0W16 in some vehicles. With the A25A-FKS engine, Toyota specs 0W8 in other vehicles.

That is a very solid engine/SUV. I would go for mega durability aligned oil. ESP 0W20 would be a starting point. My friends moved to Phoenix. They bought their ~ '21 NX 200t once the lease ended. I recommended HPL 10W20. Better than the rest IMHO.

Jiffy Lube changed their policy on me. They used to be willing to put my HPL PP 0W8 in my Corolla Cross Hybrid, so long as I signed a waiver. Now they are suddenly saying only spec'd 0W16 is allowed by corporate. I tried showing them my BITOG threads to no avail.

In the other thread, I should have said 40 years ! Diesel fuel cleanliness ASTM test us that old. It is crazy with the seachanges involving emissions.

Thank you. There were comments that apply to both 7.3 & 6.7 and some were emissions related. The subject focused upon was Mercedes Benz I-5 & V6 diesels. The V6 was put in a MB SUV with tuning and a half sized oil sump, with interesting results. Some of this stuff is universal and eye opening.

I will let others of more chops answer. OVERKILL is highest level. Most oil experts throw up their arms about fuel dilution. The best solutions involve increased viscosity or more frequent oil changes. Of course a lot of SAE specs are influenced by weakened or altered chemistry.

It affects both viscosity and the balance of the complex chemistry involved.

Among the things discussed were techniques for vehicle break in and burn off of fuel dilution. Also talked about were factors re micron vs efficiency ratings in determining which filters to buy. Newer ie CK-4, SP rated oils are far superior in wear prevention over old school eg very high ZDDP...
