What you are seeing is what I tried to explain around here years ago, now confirmed by scan gauge. The Crown series even reverted back to a mechanical thermostat for practicality reasons. Toyota is slow walking moving some other A25A-FXS and A25A-FKS engines to 0W8. The same applies to...

Oxidation became noteworthy between 20k and 30k miles on 0W8 HPL PP, in my 2.0L 4 cylinder Corolla Cross non hybrid. I am thinking you will be good to 30k miles, with your OCI/application/oil selection, especially with a shorter FCI and top off.

This has been my exact thinking on this subject. I am still watching for fuel dilution-caused catastrophy on any A25A-FXS engines, as alarming as it is to see this sort of numbers. Iron, copper and aluminum look very fine.

    Change ATF at 60,000 miles?

Insanity. DIY. Do it ! Your Ram is worth keeping forever. I just found a new DIY place in my town. The old one closed. Rent a service bay plus lift and tools, by the hour. There's a small disposal fee for used fluids. Nice.

How big is your stash, hoarders?

Kanban. 6 quarts HPL PP 0W8. 1 Mobil 1 EP M-103A oil filter. 1/2 gallon TG SLLC. 1.5 gallon TG eTransaxle Fluid TE. 6 quarts HPL Teal (soon). I need one set of spark plugs. One air filter. And then 5 oil changes. Good to go to 210k miles.

2025 Toyota 2.5L Engine Oil Viscosity Update.

No worries. Failure is unlikely. Electronically controlled components. So it is probably sensors that fail, QC ? The Crown reverted to a purely mechanical thermostat, with failure less likely

2025 Toyota 2.5L Engine Oil Viscosity Update.

Appreciated @kschachn . I am quoting You Tube posters who claim to be mechanics who have done major work on the few A25A-FKS engines that have failed. Several referred to failed electric water pumps as prevalent in this context. They also mention temperature gauge and CEL.

2025 Toyota 2.5L Engine Oil Viscosity Update.

If only we knew exactly what the maintenance plan was. I am always searching for a bulletproof engine with an airtight oil and OCI in play. My guess is that the mess on some of those rings lead to the clearly illustrated scoring. The coolant in the combustion chamber followed as evidenced by...

Sorry about that. I Do Cars on YouTube. Scroll through his videos to find it. 9 months ago. It is an interesting video to watch. He does a complete tear down of the engine. Always scan the comments for nuggets from mechanics.

Milky oil in pan. #2 piston completely clean from coolant. Guesses included failure of electronic temperature controls. There were some quality control problems in certain other areas with early (~2018) A25A-FKS engines. These showed up from time to time. Per mechanics comments at YouTube.

Toyota and Lexus hybrid eCVT ATF fluids?

Respect. I have recently changed my thinking on this. From strictly OEM to best possible compatible fluid. Toyota's eCVT is "planetary" and IMO bonding high quality esters equals longevity and best protection. It's not your Grandfather's automatic transmission at all.

Thinking About Idemitsu TLS-LV for 2007 Tacoma V6 (Aisin A750E Automatic)

FWIW Eneos makes a product line literally called "Import Series Exact Match". Here, it would be what they call Model T-W. They link directly to PDS-transparent. I would use HPL Green in OP's application and nothing else. Longer FCI. Taco's forever. Err Taco's last forever.

My 2019 UX 250H F-Sport used WS at eCVT & Rear Differential. I just now walked into a Lexus dealership and was told by the Service Department Manager that Lexus STILL uses WS in 2025 MY, and not the very thin eTransaxle Fluid TE ! Under the VIN sticker at driver's side door jam, it will...
