Audi Engines with Oil Consumption Findings

I don't have issues yet... just curious about the mechanics of it. Getting the rings done on these cars are about 4 to 6 k.

Audi Engines with Oil Consumption Findings

This man is rebuilding his 2.0T EA888 out of his 2014 Audi A4. These engines starting from 2009 have had some severe issues with oil consumptions requiring a Stage 1 (PCV + software) or Stage 2 (replace cylinder rings with updated design) intervention from Audi depending on the rate of burn and...

    Bought a used Cherokee Trailhawk

The transmissions on these can be a nightmare. My friend just traded his in for a Tacoma after the fifth time it went in for tranny updates/rebuild/repair in the first year of ownership. Not sure if it's specific to Trailhawks but that's what he had...

    Ordered a 2019 X5 for the Wife

100k miles, that MDX Honda engine is just breaking in. Personally, I would have gone with a CPO Cayenne Diesel in your price range. It'll out tow and out sport all those vehicle.

    CVT and 6 speed automatic

CVT feels like an electric car to me. Very smooth when it's working properly.

Full Synthetic High Mileage in 40w range.

Looking for a 40w range fully synthetic high mileage oil. Does anyone else make a full synthetic high mileage oil like M1 10w40? I can't seem to find any that are full synthetic. Nothing against it but just wondering if there are other oils I should look at as well. This is for the problematic...

Catch cans, & Air oil separators

At least on BMW and Audi engines with DI + turbos, it makes no difference. I believe the intake build up is supposedly almost entirely from combustion blow by.

ATP AT-205 vs Liqui Moly Oil Saver

Are they both the same thing? Different kinds of esters? I've read that AT-205 is a single treatment whereas Oil Saver needs to be run with every change?

    Time for tires any recommendations

Barum 3HM if you can get it. It's a Czech company own by Continental and they essentially use older but still amazingly excellent designs like the Contisport Contact 2 but sell them for $50 through Disc. Tires.

    Catch can for Kia Stinger

Pointless on BMW and Audi engines, I bet the same for Kia. I would rather put that money in a index fund and then use it for a walnut blasting at 60k miles.

Odyssey Performance vs AC Delco Professional

I think I'm just probably going to go with the AC DELCO, I see just replacing them anyway every 5 years no matter what brand I buy.

Odyssey Performance vs AC Delco Professional

Looking to buy two AGM batteries in group 49 sizes for my two Mercs. Comparing them, the specs seem identical. I believe Odyssey might use some kind of purer lead? Not sure it matters. Anyway the price difference is $100 per battery, between the brands. Of course reliability matters more to me.
