Using Porsche C30 instead of C20 in the EA839 engine

So I replaced the fresh from dealership m1 c20 oil with Euro LX c30. Far less noticeable vibration at idle in gear. It’s remarkable how much less there is, it’s the only thing I changed. I plan to add some ceratec later this week.

How’s it compare to Mobil ESP 0w30? Both are C30.

2 Valvoline Restore & Protect tests

20 years since I registered on Bob. 20 years later, we're still talking about oil change intervals. love it.

    Liqui Moly Ceratec

My personal anecdotal experience, it works pretty well. I use it every few oil changes. Not sure if this has been posted but: https://www.liqui-moly.com/fileadmin/user_upload/Downloads/Technische_Informationen/51069_TI_Cera_Tec_Additive_EN_1802_view_M014152_53095.pdf Formed in 1989, APL is a...

Using Fuel Cleaner - Redline Si-1 before or after oil change?

Yes, I know, I mean comments like in this thread: https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/threads/how-to-use-techron-effectively.280663/

Using Fuel Cleaner - Redline Si-1 before or after oil change?

I remember with things like Techron, the recommendation seems to be do it right before an oil change. Wondering about the logic behind this, I don’t think fuel injector cleaner is going to really contaminate the oil or remove some large amount of carbon from the engine into the oil. That is...

Using Porsche C30 instead of C20 in the EA839 engine

On sale here for $44 for a 6 pack. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07YDXBNKC/ Not sure if it's any better than Mobil 1 ESP 0w30 which you can buy from Walmart in 5L jugs for $28. I just happen to have some of the PP Euro LX bottles already.

Using Porsche C30 instead of C20 in the EA839 engine

Sorry mean to say in OP "none of the Pre-2021 Porsche engines"

Using Porsche C30 instead of C20 in the EA839 engine

Car in question is a 2020 Porsche Macan S which has the EA839 engine. A single turbo V6 making about 348hp that redlines at 6500rpm. Interesting thing is that Porsche has 2 recommendations for the oil, C20 (0/5w20) or A40 (0/5w40) depending on the country. I believe this is because of the GPF...

Yeah I’m actually agreeing with you.

    Confusing Porsche Oil Intervals

Technically my car is still under warranty for another 2+ years because of CPO which for Porsche is basically a new car warranty but with unlimited mileage. I do agree with you though, by law they can’t deny coverage if you have documented proof of service from a certified independent mechanic...

    Confusing Porsche Oil Intervals

I mean, the problem with Taycans is that EV tech is improving rapidly. Nobody wants an older Taycan and the historic drop in resale prices reflect that.

    Confusing Porsche Oil Intervals

I usually end up going to indies for all service but also ask around the Porsche Club who are well regarded and known. There are some indies here in socal that are run by retired master techs. I also take some time to speak to the owner if they’re there and just get a feel for how much they know...

    Confusing Porsche Oil Intervals

I know when I buy a used car, especially an expensive one, I want as much documentation as possible from reliable sources. Not just for me but for any future owners. I assume other buyers are similar in thought.

    Confusing Porsche Oil Intervals

I would just do it myself like my other vehicles but getting underneath it is a PITA without expensive low profile lifters. Also, I want the stamped docs for warranty and resale just in case.

    Confusing Porsche Oil Intervals

This is for a 2018 718 GTS 2.5 Turbo Car has 15.8k miles, oil change was done at 13.5k miles a year ago. Car is still under CPO warranty for another 3 years. First page seems to indicate oil changes are every other year? Second page however seems to indicate contrary? Or this page only for...

    Using fuel stored with Stabil?

Have several gallons of fuel I've stored about six months with some Stabil in it for my generator. Was thinking of using it up in the Mazda 2.5 turbo (which allows 87), is this a bad idea?

Where is it being stored? I think you should use something like Stabil if you are storing it long periods.
