    Healthy Looking Plugs?

From a 2006 BMW 3.0i N52 engine, Z4 3.0i, 55k miles, I believe original plugs. Looks a little carbon coated but otherwise healthy? Putting new ones in today. Reference: http://car.exchange.ph/2016/02/20/spark-plug-analysis-tells-you-how-healthy-your-engine-is/

Lubeguard Platinum for track use on a Z4?

GF and I are going to take a 2006 Z4 3.0i with 55k miles for some track days every other month. We're planning to change the ATF fluid in the car, a ZF 6HP19 before we go (among some other upgrades like brakes and tires). I was wondering if it might be a good idea to add a bottle of Lubeguard...

ATP AT-205 How does it work?

This stuff is crazy good at fixing leaks in old engines. It also seems to reduce oil consumption itself a high mileage old car with worn ring seals. It also seems to help fix some rubber bushing issues according to some youtube videos if you spray it on there. Does it just melt rubber seals...

Engines that are "picky" about oil

BMW S54 found in the E46 M3. 8000k rpm redline on an inline 6, iron block. Quite an amazing noise it makes too. They had a huge problem with thrown rod bearings supposedly due to a supplier issue. At the time of the recall they also mandated using Castrol TWS 10w60 if you wanted to maintain...

    VOA Castrol Magnatec D1G2, 5w30

If they make this in 5w40 or 0w40, I would consider switching from Edge for my DI cars.

    Castrol Magnatec vs Edge Titanium

Actually Magnatec seems to be their newest formulation. The recent VOA makes it extremely compelling. I love the additive package they used and low Ca high Mg.

Cleaned up the headlight lenses again..

I guess it depends what clear coat you use but even after years, a quality clear coat won't allow the lens to yellow. Now putting it on perfectly without it pancaking is an experienced earned skill though.

Cleaned up the headlight lenses again..

Just use automotive clear coat after a polish. Lasts years in my experience. If you're doing your polish yearly, I would just use Meg ultimate compound, works well when it just needs a buff.

BMW 2012 528i xDrive Oil Change

I'm surprised someone who posts here and tracks responses as well as ask for recommendations... ends up using [censored] for their purpose. But I guess that's the kind of decision matrix that leads to driving 135mph on public roads. Save it for the track junior.

    Suzuki 2.7L idle noise

Just changed the oil on my 2007 grand vitara v6 auto with 136k miles with Castrol Edge Extended 5w30 5L and hearing a strangle slapping noise at idle: https://photos.app.goo.gl/ay5w37im9v2PFNEv8 Can’t really hear it in the cabin unless I have the AC off, anything I should be wary of? It...

Why do we care so much about oil?

There are a lot of people here with newer cars that want to feed them the best food. Especially with engine technology making giant moves.

    Engine Oil "catch cans"

Intake valve deposits don't only come from the intake. Probably not even most of it.
