    "Fuel Efficiency Standards Are Dead"

I was under the impression that in terms of longevity, there was something about V8s as opposed to 6s, 10s, of V12s that made them a better choice...........power per pound. I think it was an engineering thing. As witness, the Abominations of Ford and Dodge v10s of the 90s and 2000s=mostly all...

    "Fuel Efficiency Standards Are Dead"

Outdated does not mean obsolete. I have a 91 YJ jeep, that will likely outlast every wrangler built in the last 10 years. Outdated, IMO is really not a thing. An old car can serve a purpose, comfortably......the issue is everyone always wants the next "best thing".....in the case of recent...

    Mobil1 75w-90 vs brandx 75w-85

Amsoil and Redline has it. Amsoil site has an interesting and excellent base for the specs on the 75w110..........which is currently in my daughters Tahoe.........from what I understand, the 90wt of today is on a different scale than in the past........ @Pablo can elaborate on the subject.

Does fuel dilution keep engines clean?

IMO, any contamination in the oil will degrade its performance. This is one reason why we have to change engine oil at shorter intervals ......in comparison to for example: gear oil. Gear oil gets very little contamination from outside sources. No good can come from adding gasoline to...

What is considered a respectable HTHS?

I got this..... It is of course the plan that an oil pump makes, during operations, to .......well, pump oil and stuff. It has limited options though.

    Anderson - gone

This is one reason why warranties with guns are sometimes worthless. Buying a gun with a lifetime warranty is not the end of the story. Over the years I have used many Anderson parts, and cannot say I could attribute any failure direct to Anderson.

    Frustrating Dealer Experience

My point was.........sucking at something, just because everyone else sucks, does not mean one gets a passing grade..........best of junk is still junk.

Yes, I have heard of it....being sarcastic.

    Frustrating Dealer Experience

oh...never heard of it. point being is that amount of fuel in oil is not good, no matter the design.

Modern Automatics, Low RPM, and Engine Longevity

I think that longevity starts with a solid design, with solid materials. after that IMO 1.) Maintenance-proper lube and intervals, good fuel, filter changes etc 2.) Usage- using the engine as per its design, truck=pulling....racecar=high rpms, etc 3.) Time-rubber\gaskets dry and begin to...

    Frustrating Dealer Experience

I would not be happy with that, but, I do not have experience with your engine....... Have you ran a cleaner with PEA like Regane or Techron? It might help drop the numbers of dilution.

    Pilot Now E15?

Is E15 ok for use in cars and power equipment? I assume it would be, but maybe not the best for storage?

$200 transfer tax removed for short barreled rifles and shotguns

Excellent point........if there is no tax, the NFA has no legs..........we will see how that plays out. Shorter guns after all, are better of the environment, less material, less weight in transport, smaller boxes, less trees cut down, less carbon footprint......maybe by 5%......way more than...
