    ✨HPL Results✨: Did 3,000mi make a Difference?

Where does using a product like M1 0w-40 FS (or perhaps their 0w-40/5w-30 ESP line) fit in that list? I'm guessing either before 1, or between 1 and 2.

5k OCI Overkill: M1 EP vs Pennzoil Ultra Platinum

From their PI sheet for the 5W30, it says it has an HTHS of 3.2. The 10W30 sheet, on the other hand, says 3.3.

    Pour point of M1 10W-30 EP < 5W-30 EP?

I was going over this page, and the table at the bottom shows that the PP of 5W-30 EP is -33C compared to 10W-30 EP at -45C. Is this a typo? Since for 0W-20 and 5W-20 it is -45C and -48C respectively.

Dealer used 5.5qts for my 10qts capacity Blackwing

Not as fancy a car like yours, but I had a somewhat similar experience with a dealership: link. At least your dealership owned up to it, mine didn't, and tried to side step the issue. The car is still running fine, and I did not have an engine light on during the following day or so until I...

New class action against Hyundai/Kia excessive engine oil consumption

Thank you for the info. What OCI are you on? I have a 2019 model, and the manual calls for 6.87 qt, so basically what you're saying (seems they need to get their act together on this one). Yes I've been looking into ordering HPL PCMO. I've also considered running their engine cleaner, or is it...

New class action against Hyundai/Kia excessive engine oil consumption

I have a 3.3L V6 Kia Sorento, which calls for 5w-30 or 10w-30. What do people think of running M1 0W-40 in it instead? Mine is at about 50K miles, and used about 1/2 qt oil at 4k miles after oil change.

Recommend a complete overkill oil + filter combo for a Toyota.

Definitely. But now they're switching to turbo and twin turbo charged engines. I'm waiting for the upcoming 4Runner/Prado, which seems most likely to have a turbo charged 4 cyl. The Tundra and LC300 and LX600 are already running a TT V6. I currently have a 2019 Sorento, which calls for API SM...

Recommend a complete overkill oil + filter combo for a Toyota.

Is it ok to run M1 ESP in the same grade, even though it is not what the manual calls for (API SP, ILSAC GF-6a, whereas ESP is API SM/SN)?

    Dealership screwed up oil change

@buster The story deepens o_O They didn't complete all the services I needed at the dealership yesterday, so I went back today to wrap things up. They gave me the invoice for the work done in both days, and it mentioned replacing a couple of underside bolts. So I guess the Valvoline folks were...

    Dealership screwed up oil change

I took hold of the car. The service at the dealership said they were able to get the job done just fine. Soooo there's that I suppose 🤷‍♂️

    Dealership screwed up oil change

I've had a very similar scenario take place. Last week I went to a Valvoline to change the oil, and they could not undo the underside cover as they said that the previous person damaged one of the bolts and/or made it too tight (all service was done at the same dealership up to that point). I...

    Dealership screwed up oil change

They used 5qt (one bottle) instead of 6.87. So almost 1.9 qt less than the required. Given the low oil pressure light didn't come on, I'm hoping things are fine as you pointed out. Lesson learned to always check oil after getting it serviced and every couple of weeks or so. Incidentally, I'm at...

    Dealership screwed up oil change

I'm taking it to a different dealership. My question was a more general one regarding any service at any dealership though.

    Dealership screwed up oil change

I'm intending to do a transmission fluid change next time. How would I even verify that they did the job right? I'm hoping that since the drive train has a 10 year/100K mile warranty, they're on the hook if anything goes wrong.
