LG Washer finally said no more, I can't.

    I'd buy another LG.

    RT43 at 40k

Those big cracks where the sidewall and tread meet are concerning to me. I would replace them unless you drive locally at low speeds.

Why are car batteries in 2023 so terrible?

My grandparents Duracell battery from Sam's Club went bad before it was even 3 years old. I didn't feel like playing Sam's Warranty games, so I got a new battery from Costco. The guy at the tire and battery center was saying they certainly have noticed how much shorter batteries last. He...

14 Forester XT - Replace or Keep ~ 3.4/32” Average Tread Depth

Have you considered used tires? Craigslist/Facebook marketplace could be a good option. Just give the tires a good look before buying. There are also some used tire websites like ChampTires. I have seen tires with 10/32nds of treat on there for much less than they were new.

Truck was stolen while on family trip

Sorry to hear about your experience. I can only imagine how frustrating dealing with the insurance bureaucracy after your truck was stolen. My guess is that truck left the United States pretty quickly and will not be found again.

LSPI { low speed pre ignition } is scary…GM 2.0T

As others have said, I'd run premium fuel. The newer Dexos 1 Gen 3 oils have solid protection against LSPI (at least compared to the oils that existed when this car was first produced).

New to me 2018 Buick Regal Tour-X Essense

Transmission fluid is just general Aisin Fluid (Toyota WS). The rear differential uses Dexron LS. The transfer case uses this expensive GM fluid that's 75 dollars a quart.

New to me 2018 Buick Regal Tour-X Essense

These cars were undercoated from the factory. What you are seeing is not aftermarket. As for the rear brake calipers, the motor just actuates the parking brake. The rear pistons are still hydraulic. I would not be surprised if the front brakes are still original. They last forever on these cars...

    Tire Selection for 22 WRX

My vote would be the Michelin Pilots. I'd wait for a buy 4 get 150 dollars off at Discount Tire or Costco. They should be the closest thing to summer tires while still having some light snow traction.

Review of Michelin Cross Climate 2 Tires After One Year

I agree with all of the above. I have these tires on 3 vehicles in my family and we have been very happy with them. I'm very surprised/impressed with how well they wear.

    Why not the Michelins again?

    Akebono differences?

With the times I've used them, the ASP are GG and the ProAct are FF. Backing plates and shims are the same. ASP make more dust than ProAct, but not an excessive amount. Noise is the same at minimal. They have similar bite, but the ASP feel like they have a bit more bite when you add more...

2018 Buick Regal TourX as used vehicle -- opinions / experiences?

I have been very happy with mine. It's more or less a Malibu underneath, so parts are not that difficult. Body panels aren't as bad as people like to say either. Pretty much every panel is the same as the Opel variant, so it's more or less possibly waiting a bit. My only real issues have been...

How much better are Bridgestone blizzaks?

I've used VikingContact 7 on 2 cars and found them to be excellent. I'm very surprised to read that you had trouble with them in the snow. I can tell you that the Blizzak WS80s I had were not as good in snow and were very poor in thick brown slush, but they were very good in icy conditions. I've...

    GM's 2.7L - Deep Dive

I have never taken it on a trip driving that speed aside from maybe passing. Usually I do about 70. I can tell you having the bed cover makes a huge difference in aerodynamics with the 8 foot bed.

    GM's 2.7L - Deep Dive

I really like the 2.7 in my Silverado. I typically see about 18 to 19 MPG city, and about 24 highway. That may not sound great, but the hilly PGH area causes even the old 4.3 v6 trucks to see 12-14 city.

Finding new tires that are not out of round - mission impossible?

I had something like this happen with 2 sets of Continental tires on my Regal. The second set was PureContact LS and around 7k miles on the tires they developed a nasty vibration.

Thoughts on Daytona 3 Ton Jack stands?

I have a set of them along with a set of US Jack stands. The harbor freight ones are fine for holding my tractor up but I grab my US Jack ones every time over the Daytonas.

    $1,300+ monthly payment????!!!!!!

The unreal thing about these prices is that they've added all these fancy features to these trucks and upped the price tag, and they will still be rusty junk in 10 years (maybe 15 with luck and care). Not to mention all the added complexity and problems that trucks 15 years ago didn't have. I...

Michelin Defender LTX M/S winter performance

My Dad loves these tires too. He never really particularly cared about tires until he got the Defender LTX. When they wore out, he tried the Continental TerrainContact HT and while he didn't dislike them, he liked the Michelins better. First thing he did when he got his new Grand Cherokee is...
