    API SQ Coming Soon...

I noticed the Castrol Edge EP was SQ, along with Havoline, Shell Helix Ultra, and a few others. API shows 1456 products having SQ approval. From what I've been observing in prices of oils locally and on Amazon, many many are being discounted. I think this is in anticipation of the bulk...

Frame Rust Control - How Did You Do It?

The converter is a good idea. I know many, including myself, who do annual or biannual fluid film / Krown (retailer) applications. I use fluid film on just about everything - mowers, electrical connectors, cars, jetskis, boats. Pretty much anything I don’t want degrading gets fluid filmed.

Alternative for Kohler 12-50-01 (short) oil filter that's common ?

With these filters, the WIX 51348 is ever so slightly longer, and cross references to a ton of different filters that are cheap and readily available. I’ve Purolator, WIX, NAPA Proformer, CarQuest, and they have been in the $3-7.50 range. I have a NAPA Proformer 21348 posted around here...

    New Purolator Gold Filters

From a couple others posts, looks like Mobil1 filters have a new manufacturer, not PGI made, but more than likely the same factory. Very premium guard-esque construction with the holes and plastic.

    New Purolator Gold Filters

Hate to see M+H making filters and lacking QC, amongst other things. I really wish they would take a page out of premium guard’s book and use a plastic seal around the top. I’ve noticed this same thing with some of my WIX filters I have stashed.

    Valvoline to offer dexosD 0w-20

For all the LM2 and LZ0 owners looking for more oil options: I was looking at dexosD certifications and noticed Valvoline having two licenses, one not being there a few months ago. I contacted Valvoline customer support, who said it is only in bay box at the moment. I followed asking for...

    CarQuest Premium 95146 C&P

Thanks for the pics! I’m about to use one of these in the near future, instills confidence even more that I’m making the right decision going from Wix to PGI filters.

    Champion Aerospace CH48108-1 C&P

Good pics! Thanks! If all louvers were that open, no one would ever fuss over them vs holes vs E-core. M+H should take notes.

    Latest change on JD 140

Ahhhh very nice. I think I used a $3 PL10241 after my eyes opened wide from JD oil filter pricing 😂

    Latest change on JD 140

Very nice, did this on a buddy’s mower a couple weeks ago using Rotella T5 and a biga** Purolator. Any valve adjustment or spark plug job in the works?

Decided to Try a Carquest Premium.

If the Mobil1 transitions to all Premium Guard filters with the upgraded metal piece, probably will go completely Walmart and stop RockAuto orders for awhile.

Decided to Try a Carquest Premium.

They get a silicone ADBV, silicone gasket, and better media from what I have seen.

Decided to Try a Carquest Premium.

You can find them on RockAuto clearance from time to time for $1-3.

Decided to Try a Carquest Premium.

IMO, highest quality filter on the market at the member. I used Wix for many many years, and am transitioning completely over to CarQuest Premiums. BrendanC has a ton of C&Ps of Carquest Premium, every single one looks better than any WIX or Fram I’ve seen posted the last few months.

Added a fuel shutoff valve to my 20hp Briggs V-twin

I just did the same thing on the exact same engine this past week when I went through it, needle was green and looked horrible. When I replaced the fuel pump, I got a shutoff valve, a fuel filter, and new fuel lines for like $15.

20 HP Briggs V-Twin Intek Issues

Update - tore it all down this morning, head gaskets were both good, a very small casting defect that caused a raised portion on one cylinder. Cylinder sleeves were absolutely perfect, looks like the mower has hardly ever been used. Replaced both head gaskets and torqued to spec. Tore apart the...

Fram XG10060 not sure of mileage

I’m always surprised to see the thickness of the media on these. Good pics, thanks!

    Carquest Premium 84502 C&P

Very good PG filter, great pics, thanks! Do you have any preference between these and the Frams you posted alongside?

    Post your latest parts purchase

I don’t know about labor. But, how many miles and is it most city/highway on your Sienna? I have 120k on OEM brakes on my Camry, more than 50% life remaining to go, just curious.
