Think the outcome was the data sheet shows it does but they can use any group III in place of GTL. So it might or might not.

I've run 0w40 Mobil 1. Going to run QS 5w40 next. These usually thin some to a solid 30 weight by end of OCIs from what I've seen around here. Have nearly 170k on a 2014 4runner.

You will find several brands look like these for Toyotas. For Tundras and 4runners the Carquest premiums do (made in Korea). Pureones too. I've seen some Fram CH and TG like these as well but not sure if they make them like that anymore. I know they don't for the TG in my applications.

Maybe we should all start asking about it and they will pass along that the design downgrades are apparent and customers are switching brands. I will email too.

I've noticed this same thing. It used to be a fun site to keep an eye on for testing results. They also logged it all quite well.

I feel like BMWs get the oil hot and quick. At least for the twin turbos I've done changes on for neighbors. My Toyotas don't get the oil nearly as hot after running the engine a bit before a change.

I'd be interested if QSUP would perform similarly for your noise.

I was doing 10k synthetic changes on my port injected Tundra and 4runner with 20k rated oil. Driving habits have bumped up the short trips and decreased miles per year though so I am pulling back to 7.5k. Still use cartridge filters on the Tundra and 4runner for 2 OCIs. Going to change the spin...
