    2008 f250 oil recommendations

Our two 5.4s get Schaeffer 5w40 HDEO or 5w30 depending on what I have when they're due. Before that it was a mix of Motorcraft 5w30 and bulk lube shop oil for one truck and the previous owner of the other one owned a small engine shop and used whatever was laying around. Found several empty...

    Small high speed bearings?

I would be tempted to try something like Polyrex EX. This is sounds like what it's designed for.

    Grease for u-joints?

Any grease is better than no grease-and that's how the majority of U-joints are running around. The big mistake we learned about in Heavy Duty Drives class is most people that do grease don't do it correctly. The seals are designed to be able to vent grease and you need to pump until you see it...

    Attached to older car

I have no advice to give here. I'm still daily driving this 1994 Tercel and have absolutely zero plans to upgrade. Matter of fact, if this thing had an engine or transmission failure I'd probably fix it just because it's so reliable.

New Super Tech 15w-40 CK-4/SN Full Synthetic HDEO VOA w/PC

I'll keep an eye out for local stock. Going to change oil in my baler tractor at the end of the season and I'll give this a shot to see if consumption changes at all.

New Wix Design, Looking for Opinions

That rust inside of the can is wild. Hard pass for me. That would be going in the trash.

    Full wash ready for summer

Looks good! Washing/detailing never was my cup of tea. My vehicles get an occasional spray with our hot pressure washer and that's about it. I do run my semi through the truck wash regularly though as it's kind of the face of my operation.

talk me out of BFG Ko's Need a winter rated offroader Must aggressive one I can find

Loving my Milestar Patagonia Mts. I abuse them daily with farm use, inspecting gravel roads and pulling equipment around. They got around great in the snow we had last winter.

What are you working on today?

I’m not experienced with the electric ones but this one has a Yanmar 2cyl Diesel engine. These are the most common on the road. Basically it’s in “stand-by” monitoring battery voltage levels and cabin temperature and starts automatically when conditions call for it. There’s supposed to be an...

What are you working on today?

Got off work at 1am this morning and couldn’t sleep. Finally crashed around 4am and got back up at 7 and drove to Kansas City to pick up a ThermoKing Tri-Pac APU to put on my cabover. Been wanting one for several years and I can’t justify a new one since I’m not OTR every day. I’ll be cleaning...

What is your standard OCI interval?

I used to be very strict but lately I'm slacking. I follow the OLM in our Ford trucks and try to change between 10-15% left. My car that does short trips I try to do in October- only once a year regardless of mileage. Dump truck goes off hours and is currently at 300 hours and working back up...

I did another delivery yesterday before work. A squeeze chute, tub and a couple gates.

What are you working on today?

I’m having some mobility problems with my wrists due to carpal tunnel and I can use this for nearly everything you’d use a 1/4” drive socket set, Allen wrenches or torx for. It and my 3/8” impact are a lifesaver. Plus this model is still regarded as one of the best Dewalt ever made

What are you working on today?

Fixed up my Dewalt DCF885 impact driver with a new body from Amazon. Not bad for $24 and 15 minutes of work. My case was cracked and had been repaired with JB weld several times.

What are you working on today?

Given the size and moisture content these are probably around 1100-1200 pounds. A dry 4x4.5 fescue bale is usually around 900 pounds.

What are you working on today?

Finished up our rye for the year. Off to fescue when the weather cooperates. It’s been a wild weekend with baler breakdowns and things just fighting in general but we survived. I set a new record on hay production at just over 6 bales to an acre in this particular field. I’m hoping that the...

    Smokey and the Bandit

I think it's slowly coming back around but CB will never be as common as it was in this era. I often still have conversations out on the road either in my OTR truck or in my personal vehicles.

    Smokey and the Bandit

This is one of the things that got me into trucks at a very young age. I grew up around them and this movie only fueled the fire. I always thought I’d pick up my “Sally Fields” on the side of the road too but as I’m in southwest Missouri most of the ones on the side of the road are missing most...
