Car fire ... will ruin your day

That's what finally convinced me to pull the head off my truck and get the corrosion taken care of. It was leaking all the time onto the crossover pipe and I had a cloud of smoke behind me at all times. I figured eventually it was just going to catch on fire. It still leaks some but I'm not as...

Need Ford Metal Fuel Line Clips

The Ford dealers in this area just laugh at you if you go in and ask for anything that is for something older than 5 years. Unless you're buying a $90,000 King Ranch diesel truck they want nothing to do with you.

Need Ford Metal Fuel Line Clips

Changed out the fuel pump in my Grand Marquis over the weekennd. Went way better than I was expecting it to. However, the little metal clips that clips onto the high pressure and return line were rusted away. Apparently they aren't too critical because they were rusted in half - but I'd like to...

Do you replace oil drain plug washer...

I never have until recently. After the last oil change on the Mercury, it started leaking. I decided the best course of action was to replace the drain plug with the drain plug from the original engine. Good thing I kept that around.

Tesla is kinda like Netflix, IMO. First to successfully bring something to the market en-masse. But a few years in, there's better and more alternatives all doing things their own way. I had a Netflix subscription for years, now I have a few different services but not a Netflix subscription...

I like the minimalist idea behing the Tesla computer, but it's in the wrong direction for me. Everything's computer so that kinda defeats the purpose of the minimalist. I'd like analog HAVC controls with a basic infotainment system.

And the SBC of the 70s was known for metallurgy problem and wiping cam lobes. But they didn't completely blow up like the newer ones! They ran poorly, forever.

    Carmaker Nissan on borrowed time?

The current Sentra is automatic only. It's a nice looking car and a good competitor to others in the segment. But Nissan needs to keep the car simple and not try to upmarket themselves with it. Versas had a manual available in the US in the current generation but they discontinued the car on...

    Carmaker Nissan on borrowed time?

Mitsubishi only had one product that was different or unique and it was always seen as a joke. But Mitsubishi is a giant shipping conglomerate who just dabbles in the automobile market. It's so small on their budget and P/L sheets that I wouldn't be surprised if upper management even realizes...

    Carmaker Nissan on borrowed time?

The Frontier is the best midsize on the market and the discontinued Titan was much better than it was ever given credit for. Altimas were objectively a good car ... but discontinued largely because of their image and people not wanting sedans.

    Simpletire Trailer Tire age

I wouldn't run those. I just got rid of a set from 2019. Were they on sale or something? I just ordered a set of trailer tires last summer from simpletire and they were only like 20 weeks old. I think that's pretty good considering they had to get shipped overseas and then into a warehouse here

    Kohler Command 23 fueling issues?

I put a $30 Amazon carburetor on it and it's running great again. Apart from the hydrolock from the other one filling the engine up with gas. I took the old one apart again and I still can't find anything wrong with it. Float seems to work just fine, needle/seat are clean as far as my eyes...
