Well I just buried my little Parson Russell Terrier of 15 yr about a month ago, so anything to keep me busy I am all for.

    OCI Obsession and loving it!

Yes thanks very much I'm going to stick with the OE fluid. I agree that when it comes to these type of Transmissions stick with the OE Factory fluids.

    OCI Obsession and loving it!

Well I digress! Can anyone recommend a good CVT tranny fluid? 2024 Toyota RAV4 hybrid I think I'm going to prepare for a 15K remove and replace. Thanks in advance

    OCI Obsession and loving it!

Yes about every two oil changes I swap out the filter. I dont Drive much and the car sits a lot, and when I do locally drive, it idles a lot in traffic and I'm hardly ever on the highway. So like someone else asked, it takes takes 3 months or longer to get to 1k. But I am weaning myself off of...

    OCI Obsession and loving it!

Well, I must admit that a thousand miles is a bit excessive, I might have to push it to 1500, and eventually nurture myself back to the 3K oci. Oh and yes a good question, 1K takes me around 3 months give or take depending on what type of driving.

    OCI Obsession and loving it!

Hello all, Figured I'd post this for a general census of the masses. Not looking for any reprimanding on; you are wasting resources, or just flat-out ridiculous and Overkill. I'm just voicing my oci as a cathartic and a process that I just enjoy performing on my 2024 Rav4 hybrid car, and mostly...

    Toyo oil viscosity - 0W16

I will chime and, I have a 2024 limited hybrid. At 200 Mi I did a oil change myself as I do all my vehicles and motorcycles. No oil analysis done but I did notice contaminants floating around mostly production crap. Add 700 Mi give or take I did another oil change/w filter. Both times used 0w...

One year since gasoline lawnmower sales banned in California

I'm retired and I am home a lot in the afternoon hours. These lawn mowers are so loud, they go for hours and hours in my neighborhood from one house to another. A while back somebody posted something about noisy generators. It seems like most of these Mow blow and go folks just turn these gas...

Had someone brake check me while on the bicycle this afternoon.

I've come to realize that there are so many different people that think different ways especially when on a bicycle or walking their dogs or just walking. I have this caution When approaching another car, a bicycle, a walker and or dogs roaming around to slow down and alert whatever's around me...

Had someone brake check me while on the bicycle this afternoon.

I will chime in and have been cycling since the '80s, I have ridden a bicycle all my life but in the 80s started writing a road bike with other enthusiasts of the Greg lemond era. I'm 67 now and live in Southern California with huge bike paths on most streets. I continuously see texting...

    Finally got a bike.......

I just picked up one of these during the Black Friday blowout sale. It's a gazelle ultimate T10+ Deora gearing. Mobi45 forks 85nm torque. 50+ mile range using moderate assist. It weighs in at 53 lb and I can put this in the back of my RAV4. Yes I know it's not a mountain bike but if I put a set...

What is going on with Toyota?

I will chime in! In the 80s I was going to school in Long Island. I needed a cheap car for transportation and bought the shipyard manager's daughters Chevy Impala that kind of looked like a police car with push bars on it. Little I had known about East Coast salt and rust on cars. One day I...

    Driving Dynamics vs Reliability

Well I will chime in, as I retired last year I decided to buy a new retirement present in the shape of a Mercedes-Benz 300glc. All I can say and brother can I say a lot, is in the end Mercedes corporate bought the car back under the California lemon law right to the penny. This car had so many...

Kirkland Oil & shorter oil change intervals

Yes I can concur, my RAV4 has only 4,500 miles on it. But what I have noticed in the few oil changes that I have performed, is the smell more than the color. I drive very short distances and sit in traffic enough to let the engine just idle or shut off completely and cool down. So it always...

Bought the wife a vacuum for Christmas....

Yeah I'll chime in and probably get in trouble! I bought the girlfriend a vacuum one year because she was always moaning about how her vacuum wasn't picking up. All I can say is I got my ass kicked for months after that!

Kirkland Oil & shorter oil change intervals

I like to change my oil frequently in my little 2.5 RAV4. I will probably start my oil change intervals around 2K miles. I like what fresh oil does and feels like after the engine has clean oil. 36 + tax for 10 quarts of oil is peanuts, and cheap insurance. I'm not an oil Miser! I think oil is...

"mini rant" regarding furnace issues/HVAC companies....

I'll chime in! About 2 years ago summertime heat and I turned on the AC, all operational sounds were normal, meaning the fan was blowing, then I realize that I was sweating bullets and things were not cooling off. I did the usual checks and noticed that the outside condenser motor was not...
