Looking to buy a hatchback in the $5K to $10K price range

The Venza is going to be one of those hard to find models. How many of them were sold, like a couple dozen nation wide? I'm exaggerating of course, but you get my drift...

Looking to buy a hatchback in the $5K to $10K price range

They are nice looking cars, but I'm just not sold on the reliability of the Korean makes. I know a lot of people like them, but I;m not convinced they'll go the distance of a Honda, Toyota, or a Mazda...

Looking to buy a hatchback in the $5K to $10K price range

There's a pattern I'm seeing with the pricing. Just about every place is extremely high, regardless of make or model. Every ad I've seen so far has had the Kelly Blue Book fair market value scale listed near the bottom of the page, and the asking price ranges anywhere from $1500 to $2500 higher...

Looking to buy a hatchback in the $5K to $10K price range

My Corolla's towing capacity is 1000 lbs, and I towed 1000lbs (loaded) with it. It did just fine. My tongue weight with that trailer was less than 100 lbs. I have a different trailer now, so I won't know what its tongue weight will be until I load the bike for the first time...I looked up the...

Plus it looks as small, if not smaller than the Mazda 3...

Looking to buy a hatchback in the $5K to $10K price range

I don't do the cyber purchases. I've gotta see/drive, and be able to have my mechanic check it out before I buy it, so it almost has to be something local, at least semi local...

Looking to buy a hatchback in the $5K to $10K price range

I think the CRV will be more practical for my needs. It has quite a bit more room than the 3, and there are a lot more of them around...

Looking to buy a hatchback in the $5K to $10K price range

The Mazda 2, Yaris, and Spark are all too small to tow with. I owned one Dodge and swore I'd never own another one. I wouldn't trust a Cruze either. The Matrix/Vibe are as hard to find as the Mazda 3 (they were what I originally was searching for). The Subie and Scions are a possibility...so far...

Looking to buy a hatchback in the $5K to $10K price range

The Honda CRV is coming up quite a bit in my searches, and I know they are reliable, however, I would want one with the 2.4 liter, not the turbo, or the 1.8...

Looking to buy a hatchback in the $5K to $10K price range

I was previously looking specifically for a Mazda 3, but the selection isn't very good. I think I'm going to have to expand my search to other makes/models. My must haves are as follows: Must be reliable Must be able to tow a trailer weighing 1000 lbs (loaded) Must not have a CVT, or a manual...

Looking to buy a used Mazda 3 - what to look for, what to avoid

Looking to buy a used Mazda 3 - what to look for, what to avoid

2012 was the gen 2. I actually like the looks of that gen better than the gen 3. I think that's an ugly gen, but I'm not really going for looks...

Looking to buy a used Mazda 3 - what to look for, what to avoid

My brother-in-law had been looking for a new F-150 for quite some time. He kept finding previous year model hold overs for a good price, but every one of them had options he wanted that were not available on these trucks because they were missing computer chips that were necessary for those...

Looking to buy a used Mazda 3 - what to look for, what to avoid

After doing some pretty extensive searches, out to about a 100 mile radius, I'm running into several road blocks. It's looking like finding a 3 with an interior color other than black is going to be impossible. There are currently zero in a hatchback model in my search area. Another road block...

Looking to buy a used Mazda 3 - what to look for, what to avoid

The black interiors may be a show stopper for me. I absolutely hate black interiors, and almost all of the 3s come with it...I don't know why Mazda can't offer some lighter interior colors...
