Anyone rent a car from Sixt ?

Absolutely. Since joining the rewards program, I'm typically following the signs up the escalator to the appropriate floor, looking for my name on the monitor, and then loading my bags into the car. In and out in less than five minutes. One thing to be aware of with Sixt: They may or may...

Would you let someone borrow your car for $40

LOL!!! Those New Yorkers (and others) find out quick how welcoming Texans really are. I had my tires slashed at a motel in the Katy area.... Some local yokel probably thought I was there to steal his job.

Would you let someone borrow your car for $40

The $40 won't even cover the cost of filling the tank which he will invariably return empty.

Anything wrong with 2016-2019ish Subaru WRX?

If you wait long enough, mine will be available from my estate after I pass. By that time it will be the last all-stock, adult-owned rust free WRX in existence. No dubious "boy racer" mods.

    multiple break-in oil changes

Looks like about just as many here claiming its a waste of good oil. I am sure now someone is likely to count the posts and report the final score.

Brake Bleeding...Pressure VS Vacuum and Preferred DIY Kits?

+2 I'm even more cautious; I don't think I've taken mine above about 10 PSI. The possibility of it "exploding" and spraying brake fluid on adjacent cars is unlikely.

    multiple break-in oil changes

I work for a testing lab so I like a good UOA analysis as much as the next guy, but I feel testing at every oil change is totally unnecessary. Tiny fluctuations up or down from one sample to the next will probably drive the owner crazy with worry. I do one early oil change - at 1000 miles -...

Brake Bleeding...Pressure VS Vacuum and Preferred DIY Kits?

Sounds like a non-issue then. I don't use it for anything else anyway.

EV Road trip to SPI for Spring Break

Good thing you took the EV. If you tried to actually fly to SPI, you'd end up in Springfield, Illinois.

Brake Bleeding...Pressure VS Vacuum and Preferred DIY Kits?

I think the mess would come if there is still a quart remaining in the bottle when you disconnect everything, but you're right, you can just keep bleeding it out until it is gone. But I would want to clean out the inside of the bottle afterward or maybe it is a non-issue?

    Constant EZPASS texts - scam

Same here.... Mine is from Indiana and checking just now on the Indiana EZ Pass page it says "FRAUDULENT TEXT AND CALL SCAM ALERT: The Indiana Toll Road does NOT send out text messages or call customers requesting unpaid toll payments." I also noticed they don't even have my cell phone number...

    Constant EZPASS texts - scam

Are the texts claiming to be from actual EZ Pass, or from I-Pass? If from IL they would be I-Pass. Obviously since it is a scam they are from neither.

Brake Bleeding...Pressure VS Vacuum and Preferred DIY Kits?

Exactly. Filling the bottle with fluid just seems so messy and then you have to clean it afterward. I've always (and everyone else I assume) always just use the bottle to push air. Sure, where the "air" meets the brake fluid there is that tiny risk of contaminating the fluid, but I'd wager...

    10-day review - 2025 Ford Bronco Sport

+2 It was a very long time before I realized why it was that some Broncos don't look like the others. My own fault really; I don't keep much of an eye on the Blue Oval team.

Brake Bleeding...Pressure VS Vacuum and Preferred DIY Kits?

It's been discussed here before and a lot of people were opposed to gravity bleeds. I mean, quite a lot. Maybe it doesn't work well with certain cars?

Mazda CX-30 vs Subaru Crosstrek (XV)

Is XV a trim level, or does it designate other changes? I like those early XV Crosstreks but I don't think they use the XV badge any longer.

Ford F-150 shifting in to 1st gear at highway speeds

Man, that sounds just like some of the Ford Focus "Powershift" issues. o_O Surely unrelated, but I don't know.

Anything wrong with 2016-2019ish Subaru WRX?

True, but I was prepared for much worse. Lots of reviews on Youtube complaining of MPG in the low 20s..... But that is mostly kids with a VERY heavy right foot and shifting at redline every time. Because racecar, or whatever it is they say.

Anything wrong with 2016-2019ish Subaru WRX?

Mine is a '21 and my only real complaint is the brakes. They're adequate.... But nothing more. Of the four cars in my signature, I'd rank the WRX at about Number 3 for brakes. There is a reason so many people spend big money to get the STI brakes. I do however like the gas mileage. Driving...
