    4.7 Toyota V8 OCI recommendation

Any oil is good in this 4.7 V8. I'm at about 7,500 miles and 13 months into my current fill... might be due for a change soon.

You are not running that 4.7 enough, 80K in 13 years? The wheels will fall off before the engine gives up.

Keep going guys... it's been a while since I've truly followed this board, so this stuff is new to me and invaluable to learn. And of course I have to figure out how to ring as much life out of this engine, especially if I decide to keep it around as long as I do my other vehicles.

The recommended oil is 0W20. The first change I did with 5W30 was a knee-jerk reaction after reading about the fuel dilution issues with this engine, thinking a heavier oil would compensate for the fuel dilution (I think I read that somewhere). With the 2nd oil change, I took the 5W30 I had...

2017 Civic with 24,000 on the odometer, OCI 4,786 miles over 5 months. Oil capacity is 3.7 qts, which is exactly the amount drained, that plus a small amount in the filter and sent to sample, makes for a very small increase in oil level (due to fuel dilution). This fill was a Pennzoil...

wemay... don't think I want to move so far up to a 10W30 grade oil.. don't even know what HTHS is... will be doing a little reading when I find some time. But the Cocoa comment threw me off for about half a minute... until I realized October is right 'round de corner. When you see meh... remind...

dave1251... not ignoring the data... I just don't know any better. Been changing my oil for the last 30 years and this is by far the thinnest drain I have ever seen. Like I said above, no scientific reason for wanting to make a change... just an amateur feeling uneasy about reported issues with...

Given how extremely thin and water-like the oil was at this drain, I would really like to change it up. No scientific reason, but I am a bit uncomfortable with how thin that oil was at 3.7K. I like PP because I've gotten extremely good results in my Sequoia, and decent results in my Infiniti...

I did leave out the typical usage from my post... This is my daughter's car, typical use is a mix of both short and long trips in Tampa, FL. College is very close but she does make a 40 minute, 25 mile commute twice weekly to drop her cousin from school to home, twice monthly 125 mile round trip...

Oh... one more weak point I've been living with since 2013... there's a small leak in the passenger side exhaust manifold, resulting in an uneven idle and reduced acceleration, but which usually goes away when warmed up. I've had a replacement manifold in the garage since ‘13 but never can...
