    New tool thread

This is the kit that I have and is what I used on the 2008 Ford Focus's power steering that I have been working on. It works very well.

What are you working on today?

Yes, I don't believe it was the return line that had a leak because that hose is a ***** to get off. I had problems removing it today. We went ahead and ordered a factory Ford reservoir off of Amazon. The original part number has been superseded by a new number and the new tank fits Focus...

What are you working on today?

Well, the power steering reservoir is what is now leaking on the 2008 Ford Focus. It came with the new pump and the fit was kind of loose but I put it on anyway. The original reservoir has two O-rings on the part that goes into the pump. The new reservoir only uses one O-ring with no...

What are you working on today?

I actually didn't do either job on the T-stats. The first time it needed to be replaced it was during the winter and I didn't have a place to work on it inside and it was buried under the intake which I really didn't want to mess with, so I told her she was going to have to take it to a shop...

What are you working on today?

Yes, this car has been pretty reliable. We bought it from some friends with 89,000 miles and it now has about 173,000 miles on it. I had to do a valve cover gasket, spark plugs, and coil boots when he first got it. Plug wells were full of oil from the valve cover gasket and it had a misfire...

What are you working on today?

Very similar damage to his other than yours looks a little more serious. His fender is only slightly bent and only the lip of the hood was curled under. No damage to the core support, mirror, radiator, or coolant reservoir. The door has minor damage where the fender went into it, but the door...

What are you working on today?

Looks like you did way more work than I'm doing. I have worked on this car many times in the 4.5 years that he has owned it. He doesn't take care of anything and has beat this poor car to death. He definitely is a moocher and always calls us when he has car problems because even though he is...

What are you working on today?

I have been working on this car since Tuesday. This is my fiancé's son's car. He hit a deer at 3am on that day and busted out the passenger side headlight, broke the grill, bent the fender and hood and broke off the rest of the passenger side bumper that was already destroyed from him hitting...

What are you working on today?

Still working on a power steering pump replacement on a 2008 Ford Focus. I've been working on it intermittently since Wednesday and finally got it done tonight only to have the high-pressure line leaking. To say I was pissed was an understatement. I think I had it tight enough but who knows...

    Penetrating Oil Question

I have it too and it did seem to help loosen up some very stubborn nuts on an AC system.

    Permatex purple brake lube

I use the Orange Permatex with good luck. I chose it over the purple because at one time, purple was supposedly not compatible with rubber seals like slide pin boots.

Repairs solution 2 is an Innova app. It came with my Innova 5610 scanner when I bought it some years ago.

Ford focus door ajar light help

I had to replace the driver's side door latch on my fiancé's son's 2008 Focus. His open-door indicator was on as well. His is a sedan and I had to use an aftermarket latch since I couldn't find an OEM one at the time. It's been at least two years or more and it still works. I can't remember...

2019 Rav4 parasitic draw test observations and thoughts.

Does your vehicle have a light that blinks for a security system? If so, that is probably what is spiking the current. Anything under 50ma is considered good so if you are only going up to 40, that won't be your problem.

    Which Mobil 1 5W-30 oil?

I could care less if anyone takes my suggestion. Quit being an ass. I posted it during the day on Friday so I'm not sure where you get 2:42 in the morning.

    Which Mobil 1 5W-30 oil?

You are being ridiculous by overthinking what oil to use on your truck and worrying about whether or not it meets warranty requirements. I suggested an oil that is approved by Ford for your engine so you can quit worrying about it.

    Which Mobil 1 5W-30 oil?

If you were really worried about the warranty, you would use Motorcraft oil and filter during the warranty period and be done with it.
