    Purolator 20k C&P

That all have something similar on the inside flap. Even the OEM boxed ones like MOPAR and MOTORCRAFT have a similar sticker. Something I have noticed like within the last couple of months. Might be some counterfeit measure or to make sure any return to them came from them is what I am thinking.

    GM aborting move to 0w-40

Same also. Satisfies my curiosity of how some engines are put together. Not a channel for best maintenance practices though as he goes all Gorilla in his tear downs.

    Purolator 20k C&P

Hopefully this does not sidetrack too much, but does anybody know why the Walmart sold filters regardless of brand have those little bar code stickers on the inside top flap? I do not recall seeing those at other stores.

    GM aborting move to 0w-40

I like his channel. It is all carnage. Not for people with 10 minute attention spans.

    NATIONWISE 3387A CUT OPEN

Called "Rubber Bloom". Usually just harmless chemical process that leaches to the top from either age and/or how the rubber cools down when formed from the vulcanizing process. More evident the actual natural rubber used in the makeup. Not considered a detriment nor reason to reject for it alone.

    Fluid film/Blaster surface shield comparison

I have used Fluid Film, WoolWax and Blaster Surface Shield in that order and have settled on Blaster Surface Shield going forward, it is just the best of all three in my opinion.

Do I ignore my lying eyes in the handful of USA made filters I have cut open with blown pleats vs. none of the Asian ones I have opened? I do not open every filter I have taken off the but just with that small sampling, the running average of a USA made filter being defective is higher than I...

Stop/Start Defeat for Jeep JL, Experiences?

I have used both on my Jeeps in the past. Both will do what they claim so I would shop on price for my decision. Pretty sure Smart StopStart was the OG for these device and they will claim everybody else has ripped them off but nothing they have is patented tech. My recent Gladiator purchase...

    What is this VIN?

I would not get too wrapped up in the mileage discrepancy as CarFax can get messed up pretty easily if a shop misreports it. You know it has over 250K at least and not like you can maximize any remaining residual value as that has long expired.

    Idemitsu motor oil

Idemitsu blends about all their oils sold in the North American market in the USA in Indiana IIRC. To get "Made in Japan" Idemitsu oil, it is usually gray market imported stuff for Asian make speed shops. Like mentioned, it is nothing special but does meet any spec they claim.

I will take quality over patriotism when it comes to my oil filters.

    Motul Oil

Their map tool shows like 15-20 dealers in the Maryland area and even more in the metro DC, Norther Virginia area. Whether they are currently stocking, could not say but they are listed non the less. https://www.motul.com/en-US/resellers

Seems that all Blue Devil products use the same ingredients.

They are not all the exact same. Like alluded to, the SDS just has to mention the chemicals that are a safety risk and that a SDS is not a recipe composition of the exact product make up. That is also the reason the chemicals that are listed have wide % ranges it could be but not exactly.

    Few old oil filters found

Still old then but not that old.

    Few old oil filters found

Nationwise went defunct in the 1990's IIRC. Does the box for it have a UPC bar code? If not, I would put that into 1970's or earlier.

    Motul Oil

I wonder if they are like "TOTAL" out of France in that they ship it in very large bulk containers over and then bottle here?

    Pros/cons of Yamaha filter design?

Patents eventually expire and then anybody can use it. They can also license a patent from a patent holder.

Post your latest oil purchase or even filter.

Picked up on Facebook Marketplace a jug of Belgian made Castrol Edge 0W-40 for $5. Little dusty but foil seal still intact.

    Paint N Ship

I have to correct myself. It was "ReveMoto" and not "Paint N Ship". Both are in Houston but separate addresses. Reference the story though at the link below: https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/revemoto-buyer-beware.77949/

    Paint N Ship

Paint N Ship is a sweatshop operation. One of the members on a Gladiator forum had ordered some painted fender flares and made double sure when he placed the order that they were for a Rubicon as they are different. They shipped standard Sport model flares and refused to either make it right...
