Now that’s revealing. Looking at WIX EP vs Fram HP results are about 2X ratio for 95% vs 99%. The chart 95 vs 98.7 would even be greater at almost 4X. In any event, it appears then that the poor HP can be attributed to the filter rating alone.

Lot of assumptions there! We don’t have a clue as to how much is bypassed in relation to filtered oil, but it’s definitely small, even with “calculations” attempted here. In addition, we DO KNOW that the bypass gets filtered in subsequent cycling. Considering the entire engine volume of oil...

It appears oil poured onto the valve spring directly flowed past the valve. No migration from the lower gap.
