    2024 Honda Odyssey

The engine is pretty new. We have one and it was my main concern (being new) but engine has been fine. The trans has been used awhile - a Honda 10 speed. I’d have more confidence if it were a ZF personally, but the older odyssey with the zf 9 speed has tons of complaints. I’ve read that it...

2021 RAV4 front Caster of out spec

You’re under a degree difference side to side. Not ideal, but I doubt you’ll notice it. Caster does not wear tires, it adds or takes away from stability and steering return to center. There’s a chance there’s room to shift the entire subframe, but with a normal alignment a mechanic is not going...

2021 RAV4 front Caster of out spec

What’s bent isn’t always obvious. And caster is not a live measurement. I doubt there’s any adjustment for caster, so each measurement is being taken during an entirely new alignment setup, but IF there were any adjustment while already on the alignment rack, a new sweep would have to be done to...

Urgent help needed - Ticking Chrysler 4.7

Maybe due to your broken exhaust manifold bolt(s) the manifold gasket finally blew out. When it was warm before, it’d seal a little better, but now (if) the manifold gasket blew out, warm or cold it isn’t mattering because the leak is that bad now. Just a thought. You’ve done an awful lot of...

    2023 Ram 1500 eTorque

I didn’t think they had e torque with a 3.6 either, but I can’t say I’m on top of truck stuff, so I didn’t want to say anything till someone else did, haha.

2015 Jeep Wrangler 3.6 V6 Low Oil Pressure

On transverse 3.6s, I’d think I could sneak the oil pressure sensor out (promasters). The coolant temp sensor may be iffy, as it’s mounted at a bit of an upward angle. On a RWD application I’m unsure as I’ve never worked on one of them. Worth a look before you dive into removing the intakes...

    21 escape

Brake switch? It’s gotta know the brake pedal is depressed to start, maybe it’s not working. Try to observe your brake light operation in reflections etc to determine, as it’s probably intermittent.

    Throttle body icing? Anyone?

Have experienced throttle cables freezing but not the throttle plate itself.

    Dealer Tech Pay

I think I make roughly $36/ hour now but it’s hourly / salary instead of flat rate, and also enjoy full federal benefits. Crazy amount of health insurance choices for way cheaper than I had at the dealer, WAYYY more time off, retirement benefits etc.

    Dealer Tech Pay

When I was at the dealer I made $25-27/ hour while they billed $109/ hour. I started as a helper and worked my way up to being probably the best mid-level guy there in a shop of about 35 guys. They wouldn’t give me any more money (except hourly incentives) because I wasn’t fully factory trained...

    Mustang Diff acting up AGAIN

8.8 is a good rear, I ran mine to over 550hp at the wheels with no problem. It was a 31 spline truck diff with moser axles, but still a stock diff. There’s a chance a u joint is going out, that can be very similar to a gear noise when you first catch it…but sounds like you’re just having no luck.

What's the deal with Unleaded 88?

Didn’t check to be honest. I never run it down to empty, so between whatever was in the tank plus the partial tank of 88 I ran, I didn’t experience any problems. Figured a potential 5% more E wouldn’t be hurting anything, that the computer could compensate best fine. Guess I should check before...

What's the deal with Unleaded 88?

Sometime ago I had used it in my Mazda 6. Reduced fuel mileage (I don’t remember how much). I did some rough calculations and figured it needed to be $0.40 cheaper than regular to make it worth the fuel mileage reduction. I’m in MD so if I need to fuel up during this promo, I might, but the...

Matco 1/2" ratchet: rubber vs metal handle

I don’t like the soft grips for ratchets personally. Harder to keep clean, if you think they’re clean and grab with bare hands you’re most likely going to be unpleasantly surprised that it wasn’t clean. Sometimes the grips wear / little chunks come off. And it’s harder to put a pipe or wrench on...

    Asking about Mazda’s cylinder de-activation

Guess it wasn’t necessarily a cylinder deactivation problem, just something that affected those models. I still feel like cylinder deactivation is way overly complicated for an additional 1mpg.
