Portable jump box with air compressor

I keep both a NOCO jump pack and a Milwaukee M12 inflator in the back, amongst a tool kit. Both work great for their specific needs and are small enough to not be in the way. Ironically, I see NOCO now has their own combo unit.

    Why so lean? Kohler

    Constant velocity.

    What's everyone's favorite 0w-20 these days?

If the temperature was appropriate, you could indeed use 10w-60. Higher viscosity will not hurt the engine or its components. As long as the crank turns, the oil pump will pump. Higher viscosity does have benefits, to a point. Nobody is running 60 in a FB, but 30 and 40 weights are used plenty...

    What's everyone's favorite 0w-20 these days?

Are you implying the NA market gets a unique FB engine for 0w-20 oil and everyone else gets the regular 5w-30 version? I do not know if the emissions systems are any different in other markets. Why does the catalytic converter configuration determine the engine oil viscosity used?

Keep your eye on Xfinity/Comcast internet

Yeah, solid fiber service is wonderful for low latency. Something magical about hitting servers on the coasts with >10 ms pings and >5 ms jitter. My Xfinity internet-only service was $95/month IIRC for the 1.2gb down/35mb up service. Quantum fiber is now 1gig up/down for $75/month price for...

Keep your eye on Xfinity/Comcast internet

No monthly data cap in your area or are you paying the extra fee for unlimited? The fastest they had in my area was 1.2 gbps down/35 mbps up…which is a joke for anyone that needs to upload video often. Most people just care about big download numbers and don’t care about the upload, which is...

    What's everyone's favorite 0w-20 these days?

You mean the same 5w-30 that Outbacks get from the factory in every other market in the world other than NA?

Cast Iron Engine Blocks & Heads vs Aluminum

Just like small engines on OPE have had for quite a while.

    What's everyone's favorite 0w-20 these days?

I eagerly await the results of that. After the VRP runs are done on my Outback, I’m debating what will be my regular oil going forward. I’m mentally down to VRP 5w-30, ESP 0w-30 and M1 0w-40.

GM now saying to use 0w40 in 21-24 6.2L

People love to have a diesel, people forget about and then hate the maintenance of that diesel. I guess if pockets are deep and the dealer does it all then who cares but I feel sorry for any poor soul that does their own maintenance when it comes to items like that.

    Carquest Premium 84712 c&p 7k mi

Thanks for the c&p, I have the same filter on my Outback currently with it’s first OCI of VRP. How many miles on the Forester?

    Why so lean? Kohler

The twin banger Courage’s are fine, it’s the single cylinder bucket engines that have a poor track record.

Is SJ dated oil still good?

SJ is spec’ed for 2001 and older. If still sealed, run it if applicable for something or for OPE as mentioned.

    Valvoline Restore & Protect

None of mine are/were nylon or plastic, all have been some type of metal. Perhaps has something to do with it.

    Valvoline Restore & Protect

Same here. I have never in my life on all the vehicles I have owned and serviced replaced the plug washer. None have ever leaked.

    Hot brakes and humming/roaring noise

I had a collapsed soft line on one front of my Outback. Fluid would go in and squeeze the caliper but not be able to release causing the drag. Had a very hot hub/wheel suddenly because of it. Replacement of that line fixed the issue.

    2025 denali ultimate oil question

Why would somebody idle gas engines all day?

    0W-40 or 5W-40 only

It will run smooth and well. Perhaps even quieter with less valvetrain clatter.
