    Mercedes-AMG GLC63

Is that the V8? I think AMG gets 400+ out of the 2.0L turbo 4. I figure if that engine can handle that much extra, it should have a long and happy life with me driving it!

    GM L87 Engine recall 0w20 to 0w40

Yeah, when this first showed up a couple years ago I had my neighbor change over to 0-40 Mobil1 Euro in his Corvette. He said it ran and sounded much better after the change.

    Daily captcha/ user verification

Firefox, usually bundled with Linux of various flavors, has a setting to delete cookies on exit. I think they call iit privaye browsing mode. I run into captchas from time to time regardless of which browser I'm using in Linux. I also have Chrome installed. Same websites will request captchas.

    Tiny gear puller?

I know I will be criticized for this, but here's how I'd do it. First of all, heat the gear (only), it could be assembled with a red thread sealer, so heat is imperative. It also appears to be a heat fit item, so yeah. Then I would use a small screwdriver or fine chisel to work under the edge...

2001 Cadillac Northstar and Valvoline Restore and Protect

Two other things to make sure of; 1, Make sure the small hose from the throttle body to the coolant reservoir is open and flowing. Never blow it back into the engine with air if it is plugged, 2, Make sure to "exercise" the water pump belt tesioner. I think you'll need a 1/4" drive ratchet. If...

2001 Cadillac Northstar and Valvoline Restore and Protect

Whoa! Nice car! You see that strut brace under the hood? THAT makes a world of difference in the handling on this car. It's pretty much worth a small fortune to anyone owning an Eldo, or STS of that year! When I would hit the highway with mine, my wife, in the passengers seat would fall asleep...

2001 Cadillac Northstar and Valvoline Restore and Protect

7.5 But are somehow always overfilled, even by Caddy service. This practice can also lead to excessive oil consumption. I always used to run mine just below the full mark, and it did much better in that regard.

New fuel filter won't flow gas?

Did you make sure that it doesn't have a water stopping element? A fine teflon coated screen will allow fuel through, but not water.

proper rpm for small OPE application

Depends on the application. Most small engines have a throttle on them.

Brake Fluid - Biggest Neglect, Biggest Benefit

Rolls Royce "used" to say, every 100,000 miles! Not sure what fluid spec they were using. Mercedes now says "Every 20,000 miles" Not sure if there is a time (year) requirement. Anyway, my 2018 MB is just turning over 20,000 mi, so I'm probably going to let the dealership do it. I'm no longer...

    Printer?

I just bought a Canon MF652Cw, which is a color laser, scanner, copier. Notice I didn't say FAX machine, no phone line on this one, but they do offer those too. Anyway, Canon would like for you to subscribe to their supplies/toner service, but you don't have to. It works great on documents, but...

    Paint removal

I've heard that sandblasting a hood is a bad idea. The large expanse of metal can warp and it will be impossible to get straight again. It might depend on the hood design, but I'd stick to a liquid remover.

All new MMO Synthetic at O'Reilly's this morning

Since BP changed the definition of synthetic SO many years ago, there is no way to tell if it is better. Anyone that regularly uses this stuff would need to make a comparison. My personal opinion is that this is just marketing.

    Active headrest restraint

Yeah, my car has those active headlights. And believe me, they are phenominal. I'm sure the original owner paid a hefty premium for that option. Keep in mind these are FAR from automatic high beams. When you pull onto a dark road away from traffic and it looks like daylight. Now, being the...

HummingBIRDS are finally back. Not any other kind of hummer. Sheesh.

I'm glad you took them down so they would migrate. They've been around here for a while now. Good job.

AT&T Phone - Advanced. Any Experience?

AT&T as well as all the rest that use copper, provides battery backup to their dialtone. They'd really like to avoid that expense as well as the copper maintenance as mentioned above. Copper landline is almost non-existant here, and has been for @ 20 years. I still use have a landline through my...

    Active headrest restraint

These vehicles were made during the Chrysler/Mercedes era. I've noticed that a lot of Mercedes features were incorporated into Chrysler products during that time. For example, the Chrysler Crossfire was a rebranded Mercedes SL. Anyway Mercedes has had this feature since 2014 and possibly before...
