There is no need to go 205 in area where you live. I go 205 in winter and 225 in the summer. Wear them out if they are good tires. After that, get something good if daily. Forget cheap stuff.

You can use either. Shell Helix PurePlus 5W40 is also very good option, as well as Castrol Edge 0W40. It is not grade that matters, if you are going for protection, but HTHS.
