Does anyone still have an I/O?

With the advent of high horsepower 4 stroke outboards, the stern drive has taken a back seat in both production and sales. Some (most) are a nightmare to work on and are very time-consuming. With the time involved, lack of parts availability, and contortionist moves required they would rather...

    Noisy 4th of July Eve

Tiny town near Lake Texoma, I'm not in the city limits so it's nonstop boom and sky shows for the last two nights. Some sound like dynamite going off.

    Looking at Laptops

I too was a dyed-in-the-wool Toshiba guy. As they slowly faded away from making consumer grade laptops I switched to Lenovo and couldn't be happier. Check into them online they are clearing some old stock that is still excellent and some bargains to be found.

    Bonneville sighting

I like it. My first car was a '62 Bonneville ragtop. It looked just like this one. I was 20 years old and stationed at Barber's Pont Naval Air Station.

How to properly wash with out contact.

They can't be completely avoided. A pro is likely to machine polish once the car is clean & dry. Some foam twice and wash by hand during the 2nd foam. Many use microfiber towels as the wash mitt and use a clean one as the previous one gets dirty.

    Lucas Oil Stabilizer helping

I've been in those 30 year old junker shoes several times, even lived in my '65 Mercury station wagon for some time. Obviously, if the means were there to upgrade the OP would do so. Sometimes nursing it along is the only choice available. It appears to me that some have their noses in the air...

    Lucas Oil Stabilizer helping

It's garbage, snake oil, ruins engines, yada yada. The oil consumption issue was reduced drastically so molasses or not it worked. If I had a 30+ year old vehicle that was worth nothing (no offense meant) I'd use whatever worked for me. At this point nursing it along to keep it alive outshines...

any reason not to use glass cleaner with ammonia if i don't have tinted windows?

No there is not. My preference is Sprayway foaming glass cleaner which is ammonia free but there's nothing wrong with Windex in your case.

    Lucas Oil Stabilizer helping

These are older vehicles likely with extreme mileage on them. I say use whatever works for you in spite of negative opinions and naysayers.
