Do hybrids last as long as naturally aspirated engine and do they make sense?

Everyone KNOWS I'm broke and I'm keeping it that way. My sibling had it together and retired at 40 after buying one preowned car in their working lifetime.

Synthetic oil question about length of time not miles

Yep I know Porsche shortened their 2 year interval to 1 year when they went GDI.

Those with 150,000 miles or more, check in

I wanted a 2024 Civic LX Manual, but I have limited mobility in my back so I settled for a 2025 HR-V (despite the CVT).

Why is there no 0W16 high mileage oil yet?

Is it really going to matter if your 7.9 cSt @ 100C oil is 2.60 HTHS or 2.59 HTHS?

Switching to synthetic oil with exisiting leak - OK?

Might try Valvoline Restore & Protect Synthetic if you are trying to do some cleaning. Some have had positive results with it and it's still under $30 at WM per 5 qt.

    Kirkland 0W-20, 2023 Maverick 2.5L hybrid

I don't think machining was the issue (at least it wasn't in the Hyundai/Kia and Toyota Engines). It was an issue with getting all the metal chips out after machining. Whether it was mostly procedure or block design I can't say. Regardless the bearings didn't like it much.

    5w30 in a 1.0 fox motor?

I don't think 5W-30 will hurt it, but it was actually designed in conjunction with a special Castrol 5W-20 as I understand it. I don't believe It is imported into the USA. I wouldn't be surprised to find out it has a higher HTHS than out 5W-20.
