    Copper vs Iridium spark plugs?

What is the real advantage to Iridium plugs? Simply longevity, or is the spark actually any different with the very fine tip? Silly question, but I have a snowmobile with a Suzuki 660cc 3 cyl 4 stroke EFI engine. I'm quite sure it's a JDM small vehicle engine used in multiple applications...

Would you buy a car that had been repossessed?

Really what can one do? Look underneath, look inside the oil fill hole? Low miles, and relatively new...I'd look at it for sure.

    Oil for Classic Car

Amsoil Z-Rod is what I use in my 59 Ford with a 352. Also, M1 15w-50 is well suited to classics to get some oil pressure.

ZDDP concentration in Amsoil Zrod oil

I think ZDDP was cheap compared to phosphorus and other synergies used today. Engines were made with higher tension piston rings and generally didn't consume oil until later in years. Catalytic converters and overall emissions were only gradually phased in and long term emissions weren't looked...

ZDDP concentration in Amsoil Zrod oil

I've owned and built several (non exotic) flat tappet engines. You need to remember a direct acting OHC engine and a pushrod engine have different spring pressured acting on the lifters and cam. I've built both. There us no rocker ratio at play. Also a stock spring pressure engine won't...

Diesel Oil in Gasoline - Honda?

I ran T6 in a K24 for 175,000 miles. Rust killed it, no engine related failures.

    Rubber hose for Diesel fuel

I've not had great luck with general fuel hose with gasoline. Seems to degrade and dry out and get hard/brittle within 2 or 3 years. ULSD and fuel hose is a bit of unknown for me long term. After going to local NAPA Gates Barricade 5/16" hose is over $5 a foot for the low pressure version...

    Rubber hose for Diesel fuel

Looking to add a fuel filter/water separator to my diesel tractor, and a diesel medium duty truck. Not sure if we have any bio-diesel blends here, but may in the future. What fuel line would be acceptable and not turn to mush or harden over time? Looking at Gates website it looks like their...

Hypereutectic Pistons & High Zinc Oils

Using oil in an engine increases the sliption, also reducing the sticktion. I prefer to run an airgap engine. Using oil just fouls up the airgap. Therefore, I only run air in my engine.

    M1 0w-40 FS vs Rotella T6 5w-40

No, I'm just using the diesel oil in my diesel tractor. No longer will I use T6 for the majority of things. I'm using M1 0w-40 for the gasoline vehicles and OPE.

    M1 0w-40 FS vs Rotella T6 5w-40

It looks like I bought my last (thanks to this thread) jug of T6 about 3 months ago. It was used in my tractor. I've got Amsoil Dominator diesel oil for this OC.

    M1 0w-40 FS vs Rotella T6 5w-40

Yes, as opposed to splash lubrication that many <10hp engines use.

    M1 0w-40 FS vs Rotella T6 5w-40

What really is the difference? I'd like something with good additive package for use in small engines with no emissions, full pressure lubrication. Also may end up in my Pentastar, and Toyota 1AR-FE 2.7. Both port injected.

Conversations with Blackstone on long processing times and inaccurate fuel dilution reporting.

Well, the rules if economics and a free economy may prevail. I've used Blackstone many times, and recently I've noticed a long lead time. I may try Oil Analyzers next time as well, just to see. I'm wayyyy to cheap to send in the same sample to both. Oil changes are cheap compared to sending...

Any truth to this time limit oci are outdated?

Well, I just sent in a smaple of 2 year old oil from my classic car. 3500 miles on Amsoil Z-Rod 10w30. I'll post the results on here.

2000 Camry - Front and rear wheels bearings needed. SKF still good?

I've bought many SKF wheel bearings at local NAPA and many were actually OEM repackaged.

Toyota 1AR-FE (2.7L) intake cam phaser

There is a TSB issued by Toyota about the a redesign of the phaser and improved locking pin. Apparently the phaser can break internally if let go too long. It was a good will Service that tye dealer would replace the phaser at no charge if the customer complained of the noise. I couldn't get...

Toyota 1AR-FE (2.7L) intake cam phaser

This is a spring tensioner, which is really a hydraulic tensioner with a one way ratchet. It seems with a bit more chain stretch the next ratchet will make the chain tight without oil pressure.
