EPA possibly goes after the Start/Stop System!

List them and the measured restart times. How long does it really take you to switch your foot from one pedal to the other?

EPA possibly goes after the Start/Stop System!

What is your experience that allows you to proclaim this is the "only vehicle on the market that you can do this too [sic]"? You have apparently driven all stop-start vehicles ever produced and timed how long they take to start? If you can't move your foot quickly between the pedals, you...

EPA possibly goes after the Start/Stop System!

I don't usually drive our 2016 Honda Pilot Touring, but I tried it this morning. I can easily move my foot from the brake to the gas pedal before the engine starts.

Automotive AC troubleshooting 101 - help me get started?

I got a bunch for $4.88 from Walmart pre COVID. Now, I have two cars with r1234yf... $40 for 8 oz. So far they are working well though.

Bought a very high miles 2019 Honda Accord Hybrid

Just hit 260k miles. I think the maintenance monitor is still at 40%, but I'm planning on changing oil soon. Since the weather has warmed up, I'm consistently getting 40.X - 41.X mpgs indicated. Actual mpg seems about 1.5 higher than indicated, so I'm probably running 42-43. I expect it will go...

Automotive AC troubleshooting 101 - help me get started?

I wish a Ford and a Chevy would still last ten years, like they should.

Automotive AC troubleshooting 101 - help me get started?

A can of r134a has about the same global warming potential as the CO2 released from driving 1000 miles

2010 Fusion 3.5 fuel injector question

My DIL's 3.0 Fusion had fuel injector problems and I put in cheap ebay ones... I think it might have fixed it, but not perfectly. Also, I had a cheap ebay injector die in my Ranger not too long ago. So - in my opinion - get a set of "rebuilt" OE injectors or grab a set from a junkyard and send...

EPA possibly goes after the Start/Stop System!

It's probably an overall benefit to cyclists - an audible signal that a car is about to move, plus a few less noxious fumes in gridlocked traffic.

Honda Pilot 2021, V6 maintenance recommendations

If you have AWD, the rear diff service is fairly frequent, every 30k IIRC I think 60k is actually the severe internal for the ATF, but if it haven't been done yet, 100k seems like it's due or overdue.

AC blows HOT after tightening steering rack bolts

Did you measure the gap width before and after? Not engaging when hot is often a sign of a too big gap.

EPA possibly goes after the Start/Stop System!

We have a 2016 Pilot. Start/stop was done pretty poorly on it. I think my mom had an incident where it failed to restart at an intersection and she had to go through some process of putting it in park and trying to restart, while people were honking at her. Honda had a TSB (23-008) -- not a...

EPA possibly goes after the Start/Stop System!

I would rather have those idiots on the road than have to share a train car with them!

EPA possibly goes after the Start/Stop System!

I drive hybrids all the time and I now find the perceptible shifts of the 9-speed transmission on our ICE vehicle (which has start/stop) irritating. My Accord is interesting because even on a perfectly level road, it will run the ICE and charge the battery, then kill the engine and run strictly...

Lifting front jack point from the side

I just bought this one... on my 2019 Accord, it can just barely reach the front jack point, which is slightly aft of the wheels, I think. It's enough of a reach that the handle motion is limited to only a few inches, but it's enough that you could lift that way. I'll still use ramps to get the...

Question on 'flushing' an AC system?

A/C stop leak destroyed the AC compressor on my Volvo, and nearly destroyed the engine when the serpentine belt broke and wedged into the timing belt. Not a fan! The previous owner probably put it in to fix a problem that was due to the clutch gap being too large. When you believe in things...
