    Mowers - Time for bed

My last "mow" is usually right around Thanksgiving to mulch up any remaining leaves, then the mower gets parked. I empty the tank with my battery transfer pump, turn off the fuel to let the carb run dry, then stuff a few strong smelling dryer sheets around the engine cowl to keep the mice out.

    Did the "Pill Flip" mod for a friend's 6L80 2018 Chevrolet 1500

It should be fine considering the driving he usually does and the towing will help get the fluid up to temp. I'd rather have the fluid be cooler than keep overheating and cook the transmission again. Seems like a poor cooler design.

Is there a wheel cleaner that actually works?

This is the only thing that works on my BMW's brake dust crusted wheels. Not cheap, but works better and easier than anything else I've tried. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KS5JJ4A?ref=nb_sb_ss_w_as-reorder_k0_1_11&amp=&crid=2FEKQ8FBRUDEA&sprefix=sonnax%2Bwhee&th=1

When traveling, what can a laptop do that pad not?

I'm a millennial working in the tech field and still think tablets suck for anything besides maybe watching youtube videos. I'd take a thin laptop like a Macbook Air for travel every time over a tablet.

Percentage of people that do their own vehicle maintenance at home.

Most people don't do their own maintenance for several reasons. 1. lack of time. Even some of my friends who used to DIY a lot of stuff simply can't anymore due to work schedules, young kids, etc. 2. lack of tools 3. modern cars are not as easy to work on

I was a victim of road rage

It's not worth it to engage. I used to work in auto insurance claims. You name it, I've seen it. I had one where a lady in her 50's ran over someone in a cross walk simply because "they were taking too long". The person she ran over needed several surgeries. The driver had zero remorse for...

Considering a Stihl MS 250 chainsaw

https://www.echo-usa.com/power-pruners/ppt-2620 Sometimes you can find these Echo PPTs used. They are the extendable pole saws. I found a slightly older PPT-260 for $100 for my buddy who owns a Christmas tree farm on Marketplace. $20 carb kit was all it needed and he uses it weekly.

Red Armor vs Walmart 2 cycle oil- or other alternative

I will say that although I avoid Trufuel, I don't think it is all bad. I believe their problem is with poor quality control, and some batches just aren't great. Unfortunately that also makes me question other quality issues they might have. FWIW, canned fuel is the only real way to get E0...

Red Armor vs Walmart 2 cycle oil- or other alternative

Is Red Armor better than other oil? Not sure, but I know that every machine I've come across that has been running it looked extremely clean inside. Can't say the same for those running the silver bottle Stihl oil, or the no-name stuff from TSC. Equipment is expensive, piston and cylinder kits...

    Are winter tires "worth it"?

You can usually "get by" with good all-season tires, but after running dedicated winter tires I will never go without them. A good example is the difference in traction on my RWD BMW. With dedicated summer performance tires, my car wouldn't go anywhere in the snow, not even in my driveway...

Do gas chainsaws make any sense for a homeowner?

I have 4 gas saws, and a Dewalt 20v pruner saw. The Dewalt has certainly surprised me with its capability, but if you heat with wood like I do, the gas saw wins every time.

    Kubota HH150-32094 cut open - 55 hours

I like the media in the filter, as well as the coil spring and thick can. It is very well made, but I just didn't like the nitrile ADBV which was very stiff. The oil light does seem to turn off quicker with the new Fram filter, even though I'm using the same oil. I use this machine year round.
