Looking for the most experienced oil filter expert (or moderator) to answer one question.

Good example of what I'm talking about, but also happens with the regular spin-on metal filters as well:

Finally had the time to catch up on reading this thread from the start...a couple of notes that came to mind. Be wary of purchasing filters online...we are seeing unprecedented amounts of counterfeit filters being sold to end-user customers (like yourselves) through Amazon. We are seeing these...

Remote Monitoring & Condition Based Maintenance

Hi all, Just posting this in case anyone finds the topic interesting; this is from a webinar I hosted last month with some of my Atmus colleagues to discuss remote monitoring solutions, which include real-time oil analysis while still in the engine...pretty slick stuff if you ask me. -Jay

Cat 1R0750 diesel fuel filter cut open with 10,000 miles

Garbage test...usually when I see stuff like this, I am suspect. They compared against the lowest technology Fleetguard filter...a cellulose filter. We have a NanoNet version of that same part that would smoke every one of these filters.

What's in your filter? Media types explained

You're not wrong about this. Outside of people in the trucking and other diesel-related industries, we're kind of an unknown, even though we have existed since the last 1950's. Maybe one day that will change!

What's in your filter? Media types explained

I can assure everyone here on bob that @Hohn is not my burner account 😂 Thanks for the kind words about your experience. The team here really does amazing work and there is so much focus on finding better ways to make a filter...it's honestly really difficult to convey it to the average joe...

FF5814 is it NanoNet media or not!?

100% agree with you on the naming convention. We've ironed that out more as time went on, but some of those 2011-2013 era NN filters remain the same. All newer NN parts carry the suffix.

FF5814 is it NanoNet media or not!?

I can't really answer why the original NanoNet parts didn't carry the NN suffix, but probably just a decision by product management back in the day when it was all new and we didn't know exactly how it was going to go in the market. The FF5814 is definitely a NanoNet media filter though; I was...

FF5814 is it NanoNet media or not!?

Just spoke to someone on the technical team and the FF5814 is indeed made with NanoNet. It's rated at 98.7% efficient at 3 microns. That's an older NanoNet part number, back before we started tagging the NN suffix on those part numbers...

FF5814 is it NanoNet media or not!?

Our external catalog is trash is the main problem. I can find out more information on FF5814 for you from a product manager. What engine application are you looking to put this filter on, just out of curiosity?
