    Purolator PureOne PL12222 C&P

Sorry my man. Had to head to Cub scouts with the little guy. I appreciate the offer but go ahead and give them to someone that needs them 🙂

    Purolator PureOne PL12222 C&P

Well now I had to go out to the shed to check. "Made in China" right on the label. The code on all of them is 030822GG7.

    Purolator PureOne PL12222 C&P

My $2.45 Purolator Tech TL20195s have nice big open holes in them. I have not checked the manufacture date on them yet, however.

    Photos not uploading 📸

Actually not. It just seems to be an issue with the original save of the file. Cropping another photo down to 4.6MB works. The original photos just won't upload. I took mine with a Google Pixel 6a, for the record.

    Photos not uploading 📸

It seems to be a file size issue. I cropped this one down from 3.8MB to 1.1MB and I can post it.

    Photos not uploading 📸

I have been experiencing the same issue all day. Just tried again with a 3.8MB photo and I got the same error message both through Chrome on a Windows 11 PC and Chrome on my Android phone. Edit: I killed my VPN as well just to eliminate variables and that also did not work.

Oil age doesn't seem to matter

I think I have been hanging out in the filter forum too much recently 😁

Oil age doesn't seem to matter

I stumbled across this article describing how Blackstone tested old(er), low mileage oil and determined that miles matter way more than time. https://www.thedrive.com/news/motor-oil-age-doesnt-matter-as-much-as-mileage-study Anyway, what other forum would I link it? Now argue!

Here's a trick for pre filling filters

This time I used the forum search function and the precise amount of time that it takes to pre-fill an oil filter adjusted for frequency and degree of pedantic comments among 14,754 posts on the subject is exactly 47.32 seconds... The point is that it is a simple task 😁 I do it and would advise...

Here's a trick for pre filling filters

This dude had a nifty video on prefilling vs not. The empty filter took four or five seconds to establish oil pressure, which to me seems worth the extra 20 seconds or so it takes to dump some oil into the filter before installing it. Just food for thought, I guess. Skip to 8:25ish if interested.

HPL EC treatment started. 2007 Camry 2AZ-FE 153k consumption.

I am giving the EC a full 3000 miles and then running a can of EPR when I change the oil. I probably should have done it reverse, but this has been a learn as I go thing with the advice I have been getting. Either way, if 3000 miles of EC and then a can of EPR don't show some sort of measurable...

HPL EC treatment started. 2007 Camry 2AZ-FE 153k consumption.

You are probably correct, but mechanical isn't getting fixed and I have already spent the money on the chemicals so that's what I'm doing for now. If it makes everyone feel better she is only getting SuperTech oil and Purolator Tech filters from here on out.

Are PH3614 filters all the same size whereby an filter wrench would work to loosen too tight filters?

This $13 Lisle 63600 oil filter tool has never failed to easily remove an oil filter for me. I would buy a second if the first didn't still work perfectly after years and years.

    What's In Your Stash?

I just snagged four of these Purolator TL20195's for $2.45 a pop. My oil burning Camry is getting them for her 3-5k OCIs from now on. Just a jobber filter, and the boxes are little dinged up, but I do like the plastic cover sealing the opening and the nice big open holes in the tube instead of...

    Fram Ultra or Fram Endurance?

The Endurance is what the Ultra used to be and among the best filters you can buy for the money. Spend the extra $4 and sleep well for the next 10,000 to 12,000 miles.

Snowblower won't start. Out of ideas.

I hooked up the new kill switch and still no spark. The new coil should be here tomorrow but we are expecting rain for a few days so that might have to wait a bit. It looks like to replace the coil I have to disassemble it down to the flywheel anyway, so I am going to check the flywheel key...

Snowblower won't start. Out of ideas.

Well unless anyone has any other suggestions, I have a replacement kill switch on the way. If that doesn't do it I will try a replacement coil after that. The fact that it sparked and then didn't after messing with those wires leads me to believe it is one of those two things. Tomorrow I will...

Snowblower won't start. Out of ideas.

And we are back to no spark. She still wouldn't fire so I pulled the plug out just to check my sanity and now she isn't giving me anything. And I've lost daylight, so I will have to get back after her tomorrow.
