Snowblower won't start. Out of ideas.

Okay. So I got a chance to pull the plug and give her a test and no spark. Seated fully in the ignition coil boot, grounded on multiple different metal portions of the blower itself, and used the electric starter. No spark. Next I opened her back up and detached only the ground wire to the kill...

Snowblower won't start. Out of ideas.

I am going to have to get to all of this tomorrow, but when you say check the spark do you mean to pull the ignition coil boot off, stick a plug in it outside of the cylinder, then hit the starter to see if she sparks? The gas coming out is almost certainly from me. After I replaced the...

Snowblower won't start. Out of ideas.

Help me Obi-Wan... I have a Craftsman 24" 208CC snow thrower (model number 247.881731) that I cannot get to turn over. She has both an electric and pull start. Last year I gave her a tune up but never used her because we didn't get any snow. I pulled her out this year and she just refuses to...

HPL EC treatment started. 2007 Camry 2AZ-FE 153k consumption.

I have been feeding her high mileage oil since 80k, either Pennzoil Platinum or M1. I was planning on switching her over to Supertech since she is consuming so much and I can get that high mileage for about $18 a jug, but good to know about the Valvoline for the future. I and many others on...

HPL EC treatment started. 2007 Camry 2AZ-FE 153k consumption.

I decided to try the HPL EC first since it came highly recommended here. My problem is likely mechanical, but since I'm not addressing that physically I figured I would give the chemical route a shot. At the end of this 3k mile OCI I am going to run a can of BG EPR. If I see improvement after...

Should gas stations be mandated to have chargers as well?

I am not engaging in a semantics argument to make my point or for you to debate your own. Electric vehicle adoption as it stands today is not widely associated with middle- or lower-class citizens. The expectation that it will be in the near future while remaining cost prohibitive is speculative...

Should gas stations be mandated to have chargers as well?

It is a valid question. Maryland consumes 35% more electricity than it produces domestically.

Should gas stations be mandated to have chargers as well?

Tesla's are cool. If you have the money to get one, go for it. I have two main issues with electric vehicles: 1) Environmental impact. The seriously detrimental impacts of the mining and processing of the raw materials (lithium, cobalt, platinum/palladium, etc.) needed for sufficient battery...

Should gas stations be mandated to have chargers as well?

I have spent 15 years as a climate policy analyst, so here is my truncated 2 cents. The transportation sector is the biggest source of greenhouse gas emissions in the country and reducing vehicle miles traveled of gas-powered vehicles is the only way to reduce that source. Electric vehicle...

PCV valve snapped. Will permanent P1129 code clear after fix?

It took a little longer to clear than I thought it would, maybe 2 or 3 days, but I'm guessing the diagnostic was just interrupted by short trips. Everything has since gone back to normal and that stupid valve isn't getting touched again for another 100k miles.

PCV valve snapped. Will permanent P1129 code clear after fix?

It isn't rocket surgery and I don't play fast and carefree with my multi-thousand dollar investments. Mid-way through torquing it down it snapped because Murphy's Law. It's all good now, but apparently it is not uncommon with this PCV valve, which is something I did not know at the time of this...

PCV valve snapped. Will permanent P1129 code clear after fix?

So afterwards I started internet sleuthing for information and found that the threads snapping is a more common occurrence than you would like to see with those valves. I replaced it with another OEM valve, but once I got her snugged down by hand I just gave it a goodentight twist to crush the...

PCV valve snapped. Will permanent P1129 code clear after fix?

Yarp. Seemed high to me, too, but I was able to confirm it in multiple places. Here is just one. Page 2 of 5. https://www.collegehillshonda.com/instructions/civic/2012/4dr/civic_torque_specs.pdf

Purolator Tech Spin On TL14776 Oil Filter

The C&Ps I found on YouTube for these filters are solid. If they stay at their current price they just became my go-to filter for my oil burning 2007 Camry. The TL20195 is the Fram 3600 equivalent. Go go oversized jobber.

What's the catch? It seems to be identical to their basic filter that is 3 times the price.

HPL EC treatment started. 2007 Camry 2AZ-FE 153k consumption.

I recently bought a borescope to check that exact issue. I plan on pulling a plug before I run the EPR and change the oil, so when I do that I will post the images here. And I see the comments from other posters about how it is likely a physical issue with the rings and the chemicals are...

HPL EC treatment started. 2007 Camry 2AZ-FE 153k consumption.

The can says to raise to 1200rpm after it idles to operating temp. I was going to run it at that for 20 minutes. Otherwise the car idles at 750rpm. And yeah, I'm not looking for an instant fix, just something that indicates that the treatments have done something. A slight decrease after the...
