Would you buy a new Mitsubishi?

What was entailed with "giving it up"? Did the deal include a trial period, during which you can trade to another Subaru? Or did you sell a "brand new" car?

    Toy Car Needs Tires

What's a "toy car"? You get what you pay for.

Would you buy a new Mitsubishi?

Friends had 3 of them and loved them. They never had any issue with the CVT. They boasted outstanding fuel mileage. How many cars does Mitsubishi sell per year here? I don't recall the general options. Do these Outlander Sports have 4 or 6 cylinder engines?

    Treadwear - GY Reliants

A pal had a set of Michelin somethin-somethins (MX4 X-plus?) as OE on a '99 Honda Accord V6. There was tread on them when replaced at 96,000. At a tidal bore in Canada, I spoke with a guy with a similar Honda who replaced his good tires (not sure of brand, but I assume....) at 86K, before...

    Treadwear - GY Reliants

We've all been there. I assume it was the UTQG rating that said 65k. A set of Bridgestone Turanzas with Serenity* had a UTQG rating of 80,000 miles. With rotations and perfect alignment, I got 51,000 out of them. OK, my V70 was a "2-ton car". The tire seller told me they'd (B'stone) would only...

Building a sound deadening box for air compressor.

"Soundproof rooms" are made with black, anechoic foam and plywood. I've also seen sound deadeners which were makeshift stud walls filled with sand. These were used to shield adjacent microphones in a studio setting.

Best Oil for potential collection car

...and it's not modified? Sounds like all you need is an oil which meets the manufacturers specifications. What country are you in?

Best Oil for potential collection car

Maximum what? Max heat? Max load? Max speed? What does Renault recommend for their hot little car? Are they turbocharged? Is yours modified? Do you run this car on a track...or just dodge police with it? (just kidding) We love to hear about delicious, special cars we can't buy. One...

    Smith & Allan

Perhaps not. It's a company celebrating a 100-year anniversary. When and where's the party? They make/market oils, grease, paint and stain. They list 13 brand names. Describe your previous bad oil experience, please. Was this oil on special?

    Forum clean language rules

BONUS OPPORTUNITY: Say you type something containing questionable language. .......>And I would find it 'mind blowing' if someone's hands kept typing dirty words. Why wouldn't their brain's filter work then? Then you either hit "Preview" or proof-read. This is the bonus opportunity to tighten...

    Mounting a tire using fire

Hey, I walk around during lightning storms wearing golf shoes, carrying an umbrella held as high as I can. I ain't scared o' nothin'.

    Mounting a tire using fire

In many videos of this, immediately after the tire "expands", you can often see it shrink back down. Spring compressors used in strut work are always held out as dangerous here. I think playing around with explosive gases is more so. I know people do it and I'm not usually "like that", but...

    VALERO pulling out of PA

In northern NJ many older Shell became Valero stations. There were TV commercials claiming they were an established company, pipeline, I think. Their pricing was way out of line; always above Shell and Chevron (or most expensive) and Exxon. I feel good when I see a closed Valero.

What is the best way to get a snake out of a car?

The OP isn't sure there's a snake in the car. I do believe snakes like to go about their business calmly and quietly. Opening the hood likely discomfited the poor thing. I'd bet it left in a hurry.

Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys just passed away at 82

And don't forget Glen Campbell in the mix. He must've written several songs for them and he was offered a full, billed spot in the band. He turned down being a Beach Boy due to established, steady work. He didn't want to tour. I've no further details. Anybody know anything about the album...

    Lug Nuts

If this is the style with the 'sheet metal overlay', your best bet is to just get solidly made ones. The sheet metal cap always turns into deformed garbage, no? Seriously, all the ones I've ever seen perish. Also, as a point of humor, there's a battle cry about McGard locking lug hardware on...

German lug bolts are better than ROW lug nuts, true?

The video Trav linked to in post #29 barely showed the tool they were testing/praising. There was no description of the difference or improvement offered by their product. Strange.
