Ram/Stellantis to announce 10 year/100.000 mile powertrain warranty for 2026 model year.

A 10 year/100,000 mile limited warranty which is non-transferable. (engine and running gear only) I'd bet the owner has to have a full complement of service stamps. I predict the service desk WILL NOT remind you to present your book for stamping. Yes, more dealership hate. What was the old...

Arrests made in largest jewelry heist in U.S. history

Maybe they will be so accused. A security contractor's big rig stops in "Nowheresville".....so a guy could enjoy a rest stop meal and another (who's apparently deaf) could take a nap.....instead of speedily refreshing the driver and crew en route? Sure stinks to my nose.

Tom Bodett sues Motel 6 alleging use of his voice without payment/permission

Nothing's stopping the parties from reaching a payment agreement.

    TiGeo has a new knee

^Yes. Be glad you're a healthy specimen, TiGeo. The fitter and more flexible you are going into recovery, the better. My doc noted my gorgeous physique and overall sound health, "...makes you a prime candidate for same day release.", he said whilst scheduling my right hip replacement...

Another electric car almost out of power.

Husband of club member: "I can't be out of gas. [wife] fills the car every Monday." Me: "Today's Thursday and [wife] has been in the hospital all week." It happens.

    Star-Tron Ring Clean+

I have never used this product nor heard of it here. 1) My baseless thoughts are that it's likely snake oil and even if not harmful, it'll be weak or worthless. 2) Other companies produce highly regarded treatments with published ingredients. Without knowledge, I bet this is inferior. 3) That...

    Suspension Service! Why?

While I'm no bike guy, I do recall a pal servicing the forks on a recently acquired, European motorcycle as you describe. That machine had to have been neglected, given its dirt and "take it off my hands" pricing. Ha.... he met his wife, in a car, on a sharp, blind curve she took widely...

What to do with gallons of DEX III atf

I'll be juicing my friends two Nissan trucks soon; a '12 Xterra and a '19 Frontier. I'd take two jugs off your hands were I near you. Do you know if there's a pump in those transfer cases? I was blown away when I learned my Ford TC ('05 Ranger) has one. For The Record: Their trannies take...

Thread for photos that 100% do not violate any Terms Of Service, not political, not too lewd, no gas price pics etc.

What to do with gallons of DEX III atf

Can't Dex III be used in most transfer cases? Contact transmission shops...Heaven forbid you make a couple of bucks! Wipe 'em down if they resemble the oil jugs you showed us.

    '04 Volvo S60 - Manual Shift Knob & Boot R&R - 21 years and 220k Miles

In post #10 the shift pattern (silk screened?) seems crooked. The 1-3-5 and 2-4-6-R on the bezel, for me, is a first.

2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee transmission fluid

OE pan might be the best way to go. A replaceable filter is a great feature, but not if it doesn't fit correctly. Someone posted that they used a pan from a BMW dealership. They use or used the same transmission on one of their models. One more bit of info: A friend has the same vehicle as...

NAPA Second Saturday Sale discontinued at company owned Euless, TX store

NAPA's sale and promotional machinations have come up here before. For years, my NAPA was "Hometown Auto Parts" in Wood-Ridge, NJ. Great guys...HOWEVER, you must bring something printed to them...then they shift into gear. National or local (I can never tell) seemed not to matter.

    Synthetic oil question

You've been using conventional oil in it for 30 years; correctly buying it and installing it. What made you pick up the wrong oil? I errantly grabbed an AGM battery recently because they changed the labeling. The battery didn't have AGM in huge letters on it, so I assumed it was lead-acid...

Do I have to change my coolant?

Drain and fills BEFORE the coolant becomes depleted. It's really easy now-a-days. Also, a Q: Many have said that today's water pumps' bearings are isolated from the coolant flow and are NOT lubed by the coolant. I don't know if this is true or not.....but I've heard it a lot.

    '04 Volvo S60 - Manual Shift Knob & Boot R&R - 21 years and 220k Miles

A rewarding job, yes. May I share my recent experience? Replaced mine last week; '07 V70 auto. My release trigger pivot broke. The lever often worked but could jam. Then you'd have to jiggle it. I admit to using rubber bands to hold the trigger. Had it broken 'the rest of the way', I...
