Yes, they are FULLY formulated motor oils with some cleaning action. These aren’t harsh solvent cleaners you dump in for 10mins before an oil change.That is it.

Never said those cars will be million milers, they also aren’t exploding in the streets at 100k miles. Whether people get into the intricacies of modern oils and engines or not, it is very clear oils are being formulated to keep these cars on the road longer.

This is cool and goes along with what I have read on them. To manually keep track of what these do would be quite the task for the average owner.

The “oil is cheap, engines aren’t” mantra of short-changing goes out the window with these short changes though. Like Patman said above, there are plenty of these small displacement turbo motors out there doing just fine being driven by people who care less to know about oil.

Absolute crazy talk! HPL even makes an oil called, you guessed it, SUPERCAR! Not to mention their offerings for race oils and that’s not even touching on Amsoil, redline, Schaefer’s, etc.

I’d be willing to bet the engine is to blame in this situation. There seem to be families/series of engines that just destroy oil and get nasty no matter what the owner does.

There are no assumptions here though. Plenty of boutique oil uoa’s here to show that yes, they can go the distance across a decent spread of engine types.

I’ve got to second this with the echo. CS590 saw runs like a raped ape year after year. To be fair I’ve got a still FS110 that runs fine yaw well, It just hasn’t ever run as well as the echo.

While my lawn is certainly no golf course, it is quite nice and I use sharp, sharp blades to keep the tops of the cut grass from noticeably browning. I can really tell the difference when it starts to dull and it drives me nuts. Everyone’s mileage will vary.

I'd bet 5k is a walk in the park for it. I know it isn't the same application, however, the Amsoil Metric motorcycle 10-40 in my ninja is incredibly stout. I try to kill the oil everyday, 13k rpm shifts, 6th gear pinned and just keeps holding on!

If you go sig series you can go much further than 3-4k, even in a turbo boxer, it’s really stout oil. Arhat being said it may still be worth it for the ring cleaning/keep clean properties.

I have no idea. I would find it wierd if they made a filter for that application that didn’t fit though!
