Congress removes CARB and other state's ability to set emissions standards

As another poster said-we all want state rights....until we don't!

Congress removes CARB and other state's ability to set emissions standards

I did not make the argument for 2025. I made for the 60's. You can draw your own conclusion when that cycle turned and autos were not one of the major sources of pollution. Other than that-we can disagree.

Congress removes CARB and other state's ability to set emissions standards

Yes.....your post is one of the few rational well thought out ones for sure.

Congress removes CARB and other state's ability to set emissions standards

Can't really comment other than the fact that there are catalytic converters that are different because they have to be CARB certified. Don't know if they are physically (internally) different-allowing less pollution or it's a certification...

Congress removes CARB and other state's ability to set emissions standards

You do realize there are other (14-I believe) states that have adopted the same standards...don't you?

Congress removes CARB and other state's ability to set emissions standards

I will repeat what I have posted probably a dozen times before- I grew up in So. Cal in the 60's. We used to go out to my Grandma's house in the San Gabriel Valley on the weekends/holidays. It was twenty miles as the crow flies to the San Gabriel Mountains. The air was so dirty-it would be rare...

"Book time" on two Honda brake repair items?

As stated. Probably went "heavy" on the labor because you supplied your own parts. You didn't do the repair yourself-for whatever reason(s). Be happy if it's done right. Where I live-you can supply your own parts-but it's a standard " no warranty" on the repair for doing so.

Is the Chevron gas THAT much better?

I buy the cheapest gas I can find when I am towing. It's 10mpg. It's never hindered the trucks ability to go up 9,000 foot mountain passes.

Out with the Audi & In with a Pilot

They were reliable and inexpensive to operate. But they were the true definition of cheap and mediocre.

Have you seen the search functions on other forums...this one is better than many.

EPA possibly goes after the Start/Stop System!

One or two seconds. Other than that have a nice life.

    Auto insurance

Exactly. That's why posting is useless..........and anybody doing a search would realize that.

EPA possibly goes after the Start/Stop System!

Yes-I have driven many- not all. As I said -you can't do this under normal driving. And if your vehicle can do this under normal human reflexes-it is an outlier-all though I have my doubts.

    Auto insurance

Here we go again..................... This forum (unlike many) actually has a pretty good search feature. Many on here apparently have not tried it.

EPA possibly goes after the Start/Stop System!

It's the only vehicle on the market that you can do this too...if you are indeed correct. And you are not going to do this in a usual "moments fashion". I guess IT MAY BE POSSIBLE if for some reason you extremely quickly move from one peddle to another. But in normal "everyday driving mode" you...

Out with the Audi & In with a Pilot

After coming out of a Highlander with only 29,000 miles on it-to a Volvo XC60-it's a wakeup call how much you put up with mediocrity to get that reliability. I could preach this all day-the best way to see what I am talking about is renting through Hertz (on your next trip) and getting an XC60...

Re-Looking at Amsoil for problem engines.(Ford Ecoboost and GM 5.3/6.2)

The 5.4 is a motor known for longevity regardless of motor oil used. My son had this motor in a full size van and took it to "quick lube places" and it was high miles when he sold it. Zero issues.

Video- you probably won't make it in Wyoming

Rawlins is a hole. If you have to move to a state with no state income taxes as a consideration-you haven't planned retirement right.
