    Foam filled tires

I got it. You can buy some galvanized steel garbage cans. Their round. And slice them up into 4" wide sections for the front, and like 16" sections for the rear, and weld the spokes/ rebar to the galvanized wheel part. Spot weld some short nails for traction, and spray paint em with black...

    Dryer Vent Extension

See, easy peasy. Even you're wife could do it. ( Mine wouldn't....noo way ).... ( I'm retired, so I need her bene's. My job wanted $ 900 bucks a month for bene's. That's a lot o dough taken out of my pension per month, so you bet you're a-s I'd be cleanin the dryer vent :) LOL )

    Dryer Vent Extension

OH, you got one of hose wives too :)...Glad I'm not the only one. She drove her car like a Mack truck. Eating brakes and rotors for breakfast. Told her, " Next brake job, YOU take it to a shop and pay for it , rather than me doing it" She drives like a 90yr old now ! LOL :)

    Is this piston leaking oil?

Yeah, I see something at 2:00. I'm no expert, but I would take the advice of Oilover about 10 posts up. Sad, only 67k :( Best of luck. Get it fixed and run 93 octane or octane booster. .OR.........You could sell it after you fix it and try to recoup you're money.,,,or keep it and hope the...

    Foam filled tires

So much for that :( .....The CHEAPEST way out of this mess is to run the machine on some homemade metal rims. Like the REALLY old tractor rims. Will take a lot of time and fabricating, will need a welding machine. Use re-bar as wheel spokes,on the original rims, and some kind of pliable metal to...

    Is this piston leaking oil?

About 10:00 on the photo, unless that's carbon or some other foreign substance laying on top of the corner of the piston and bore. Looks like a mouse was chewing inside there in that area. Very slight piston pitting at 7:00. Other than that, it looks good to me. Plug just looks like carbon...

    Dryer Vent Extension

Didn't know they had a dual safety system. Smart. Thanks for that info repairman. :) I could see where a low vent in the snow belt would be a problem. Carbon Monoxide can't escape a 4' snow drift. My vent discharges 10' above ground level. Lower Hudson Valley, NY.......... Natural Gas dryer...

    Need Advice on Tire Size

Oh jeez, forgot about the Cats.... There on borrowed time without blow by, but they may be cheap. NY has California emissions which doubles/triples the cost of a cat. They literally steal them out of parked cars with a saw zall.. No joke. A guy in The Bronx will weld a piece of heavy duty chain...

    Need Advice on Tire Size

NICE CADDY ! Especially for $ 400 bucks ???? The " alleged" blow-by will show up in the intake hoses / valve body/ air filter/ intake manifold. Make sure they are oil free. As for the hood paint, I would just send it out to a body shop an have it re-shot ( unless you're really good at painting...

    Need Advice on Tire Size

Personally, I would finish the restoration, and wait until it becomes a daily driver, or whatever plans you have for it. Then chuck/ sell those things and put on a good set of 225/55/16's. That's what the car calls for and is designed for. Peace of mind after that is done. Just don't know how...

    Need Advice on Tire Size

You say the previous owner just had "new" tires installed on the Caddy, albeit the wrong size. Did you happen to check the date stamps on said " new" tires ?? I'm not a fan of Discount Tires. They're discounted for a reason, ( like their old). If he date stamp falls within the 5-6 year chuck...

    Foam filled tires

Maybe a de-thatcher hooked up to a Bob-Cat and really scratch into that dirt/grass. Be a bit time consuming,,,,or raise the grade a tad with some screened top soil in the most offending areas, then re-seed....Again time consuming though

NEW Vehicle Advice / Recommendations: Anyone? Subaru or Toyota? What says the gang?

I concur...like I said 03' Solara, 06'Camry, 13' CRV with the last of the good engines..........Then came the bean counters. I swear, you close the door on my mom's 2024 Toyota Cross, and you get scared thinking it might bend. The door is as thick as a beer can !

    Pros and bleeding brakes?

Yes, I agree, child abuse/ neglect....My mom was no better..wearing a 4" leather belt around her neck to give us a good whooping when we got out of line. Can't pick you're parents....It was the mid 60's. BUT, I was the exact opposite with our daughter, and she is doing much better than me when...

NEW Vehicle Advice / Recommendations: Anyone? Subaru or Toyota? What says the gang?

I don't think ANY manufacturer makes a good car nowadays. Case in point: My mom's 2024 Toyota Cross. From day 1 when it would rain, the pass floor mat will get wet. Even in a car wash. She took it back 5X. " We can't find where where the water is coming from, but we can see the mat is wet. Bring...

    Pros and bleeding brakes?

No it's not. I was taught to drive on a car without ABS. I was like 12 or 11, go to a big open parking lot in the snow. My old man was drunk. Told me to start driving. That's how I learned and my sister's learned, on a stick shift no less. " YOU HIT SOMETHING, I"LL KILL YOU ! " NO LIGHT POSTS...
