    Need waterproof grease for splines.

There are Dodge Ram 1500 repair videos that show the stub shaft splines with significant wear and what appears to be fretting corrosion. Even the snap rings can show significant wear. There does seem to be load and vibration to cause wear in some cases. Which Krytox product has advantages over...

    Need waterproof grease for splines.

For splines you need water washout resistance, load-carrying (EP) and fretting protection. A lot of people use various anti-seize compounds, others use grease with 3-5% moly. I would consider a calcium sulfonate complex with 5% moly. I would look for Cat Extreme Application Grease. It's CaSX, 5%...

Cartridge filters are not as effective as DE filters. DE filters give great clarity that you probably won't achieve with cartridges. When I ran sand or cartridge filters I always used a precoat of DE. This gave great clarity but backwashing of the sand or cleaning of the cartridges was...

How many of you rotate your tires right after an oil change?

I'm proud to say I have never rotated my tires and since I am closer to my death than to my birth, it's a safe bet that I will be wearing the dirt coat without ever having rotated my tires. I have pretty much the same record regarding washing, waxing and detailing my cars.

    Preventing rust on tools

I never tried them but I read that moth balls and camphor are supposed to work well like other contributors said. Another option is a vapor phase corrosion inhibitor and emitter.

    Rusty bolts

The kerosene-ATF combination is really no different than other OTC penetrating oil, Most use a mineral oil based non-volatile portion with an odorless kerosene diluent. Solubility is essentially perfect and separation doesn't occur. By using kerosene in place of acetone you loose the cooling...
