I have yet to have a car last long enough to have an engine problem related to oil or oil filters. I do use high-efficiency filters and quality oil because it makes me feel better, but where I live the rust destroys the rest of the car long before the engine can die from regular use.

Some FU filters have holes and not louvers, like the XG6607 that fits my Subaru. OTOH, the large XG2 has rather tiny louvers!

Agreed! But, shouldn't a filter have a silicone ADBV if the company's website says it does? Sure, it's a minor thing, but if that information is wrong, what else is wrong in their description of the filter? If a restaurant advertises "lobster" I don't want to get imitation crab meat.
